Easily the best image of M51 Iβve seen . This looks very 3D and shows that the smaller galaxy is actually behind the main swirl . Nice π Good , modest colour . Cheer

I did the whirlpool as one of my first shots. I was manually tracking, spent an hour finding the target, got 10 1 minute shots of blurred stars and then lost the target again. I now have an asiair and a goto mount. Life is much easier now π€£

I saw M51 last night on a camping trip with my 10x42 monocular.It is pretty easy to pick up in dark skies but obviously all you see is a misty smudge in small instruments.
