It should have interchangeable limbs that convert to smaller vehicles, as an homage to the original ship being modular and interchangeable.

Make the cockpit an escape car ( ejecting vehicle 🚗) make it intro a transformer like a 3 in 1 Lego Creator set. It would be cool if you do another repeat when you upgraded Rockets space ship 🚀. A cockpit that ejects into a spaceship, as an homage to the original ideas, it also works with some of the other ones people have said like recombining limbs. Also maybe work the triangle design onto the head in some way

I think maybe go different with the mech style and do a more titanfall or mechwarrior style one? Sort of a spaceship pod with arms and legs? Mostly because I feel like it veers towards classic Space aesthetic and I know you'll put your awesome spin on that.
