Normaly military render images and animations are stuck in the early 2000's but this one is really good. It even has a bit of an heat blur effect around the landing gear.

Thank God. Hegseth was making a huge mistake cutting these. Without F/A-XX the air wings will have a limited ability to project power. Which means why are we buying carriers if we aren’t investing in the air wings? And the E-2 cannot on its best day do the job of an E-7.

Thank fucking god, the fact the E-7 was planned to be cut was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.

The Navy needs the FA-XX more than the USAF needs the F-47

A replacement for the F-18 is needed or Congress needs to free up budget for the Navy to order new F-18s. Boeing is threatening to shutdown the production line.

Wow I love the military industrial complex! My Lockheed stock is going to love this!

In a way this is good; arguably we need a sixth gen fighter for the Navy more than we need one for the land-based Air Force. On the other hand, we still can’t seem to build a damn ship to save our lives yet we keep focusing on air power. And if we hadn’t outsourced so much manufacturing and so many jobs out of the U.S. - and therefore were not dependent on Taiwan for a sufficient supply of advanced semiconductors - we wouldn’t need to worry about this impending war to begin with.

Hopefully Boeing and whoever is handling the Navy's 6 gen build, doesn't see this an opportunity for planned overruns. Nah, it's silly for me to utter such a ridiculous thought. There's a definite need for all three.

The U.S. Navy's 6th Generation Stealth Fighter might not be on the cutting board much longer.
In what can only be described as “defense budget déjà vu,” Congress is now stepping in to unfreeze funding for the Navy’s F/A‑XX sixth-generation carrier fighter. Recently decimated in official Pentagon plans in favor of the Air Force’s F‑47 program by greenlighting a draft spending bill that restores $1.4 billion to the jet while also reversing cuts to the E‑7 Wedgetail radar plane program previously slated for elimination. Despite the White House and Pentagon claiming that the U.S. defense industrial base can’t juggle two next-gen fighters at once (apparently believing Boeing’s arms factory resembles a one-man carnival act), the Senate Appropriations Committee has pushed back by not only un-freezing F/A‑XX funds but also demanding the Air Force continue work on the E‑7 system. So, yes, the Navy’s reportedly “gutted” fighter program is getting a lifeline because nothing says strategic clarity like Congress vetoing strategic nukes… in budgeting.
