Looking for specific audience feedback.

Received a comment on my debate YTP asking how I could make a YTP during a genocide. My intention was to mock zionists like h3h3 and destiny, and have a go at zionist belief.

But I do not want to make light of a genocide or turn it into vacuous content. Maybe YTP just isn't the format to take on zionism. I am sorry if this video is offensive, and I am ready to remove it.

Would appreciate other people's thoughts.

@KoleWilliams

You’re mocking people who are promoting a genocide, you’re fine.

The take that summed it up the best here is "you're using debate footage to make fun of zionists. You're not using clips of bombs blowing up hospitals or starving children to get laugh." There is a difference, and humor is an important way to make the beliefs of the common people in any time period known . So who knows, maybe you'll even be culturally significant decades from now. But to get back to reality for a bit whoever commented that sounds like that "Man builds bird cage while JonBenet Ramses' Murderer Still at Large" parody news article . Lmao

Life gotta go on even during a genocide. YTP's are YTP's, and info is info. If someone gets their info from a ytp, they probably should not be on youtube

@lostodon

you werent making light of the genocide, you were shining light on the absurd rhetoric supporting it

Nobody who asks a question like that is a serious person. If they were, why are they on YouTube watching videos during a genocide? Hmmmmmmm? 🤔🤔

Being hesitant is always healthy when dealing with serious subjects. It’s a very good thing that you’re thinking about this. My advice is to always consider the perspective of a victim, a Palestinian, or any relevant marginalized person as you make your videos, and to try and make it for them specifically. That said, you’re doing so great.

it's a sincere form of expression and i think that your feelings were sincerely expressed

Personally I thought your intention of ridiculing people like h3 and destimy for how they try to distract from or defend a genocide was obvious and well executed!

Keep it up I thought it was great

I feel like the people who are saying that are probably the same people who only started calling it a genocide like 1-2 months ago. It’s meant to make these people sound as dumb to everyone else as they already do to the people who get it, and that’s worth doing. They deserve to be laughed at.

@KumoKumiko

yeah, I felt pretty confident reading your YTP as satirizing the naked and banal cruelty of those perpetuating and encouraging the genocide. I suppose addressing the genocide at all in a comedy format could be considered 'edgy', but. peoples' mileage will vary on that, and I think as long as it never makes light of the suffering, it's fair game in a political satire YTP

@BB8B8

It's a YTP of debates (which, in the mainstream form of the day, are totally worthless), not of the events themselves. It's not like you're using footage of hospitals being blown up for laughs

Mocking is one of the best ways to break down someone's credibility, if they're a joke then who's gonna listen to them? I'd say what you made helps accomplish this above goal and is therefore good

Ethan Klein is denying a genocide. Maybe that commenter should ask him how he can do that and leave you alone. It was probably one of his meatriders so I wouldn't worry. Keep up the great work. <3

Making fun of nazis is always okay. Making fun of those perpetuating a genocide is the very least that we can do. Keep at it!

Your YouTube poop did not make light of the genocide in Gaza, it makes fun of the discussions that revolve around it in American media. It's fine. You have the right to make YouTube poops while something terrible is happening because the same person that said that took their time to watch your video and leave that comment. That wasn't time providing support to the Palestinians and that's okay. If you support their struggle you should find a way to do that that fits within your capabilities. Donate money, spread a cause or organization you trust, help local organizations and communities round up supplies or help with Palestinian-american struggles. You made a silly video on a serious topic but did not disrespect the people being "genocided" . Trust your work but keep that healthy amount of doubt

De-fanging the enemy can be a powerful tool. Bad people deserve to be shamed, and I think if the audience is mindful, it doesn't take away from the very real threat they present

That's like saying "stand-up comedians shouldn't talk about current wars" Make what you wanna make, you're not supporting evil and the world won't be worse off for your (honestly very funny) content Don't let a few opinions make you remove your hard work
