15 years ago, the idea of playing a new game at 1080p 60fps was crazy, it still is...

300p near base resolution? Bro, it's just imagining the game at that point.

I think the main problem is Unreal Engine being a engine prostitut3 so any dev from mediocre trash to excellent can use it but not put the effort to master it therefore we get this bs, also UE5 is kinda not the best engine, the best engines are always the proprietary ones where the company develops one specifically for it needs. Basically UE5 is jack of all trades and master of none. For me this is a sauceless engine 🥀

Unfortunately, because of the amount of turnover that’s going to be even more common in the industry going forward, companies need an engine that everyone already knows so new hires and contractors can hit the ground running day one

Wild how more Devs don't use Unreal 4 because you can achieve great visuals with it AND it's way easier to optimize. Plus it's not actively being changed and updated constantly like UE5 so it doesn't need as much active tweaking

I played starfield on xbox series s.the s can do very good visuals. yes not in 4k but in 1080p. i played starfield on a good pc and xbox series s. And there is no big difference in comparison. Both looked good on my 4k tv

Unreal is making all AAAs look like the same game just morphed into another genre. Good there's DECIMA to show games can look and play way better.

UE5 should’ve gotten pushed back until the next gen at this point

It’s not engines it’s how they are used. Engines are tools not end solutions. There are plenty of high quality unreal 5 games and plenty of poor ones. I would say with the unreal 5.6 later this year with its massive memory, cpu, etc improvements that it will be a far more performant and impressive engine, it should of realised with many of these improvements as standard GPU could argue

Right, now compare this and the engine to let's say for example, DS 2 and Decima Engine.. haha, okay

Ps5 and series x STARTING at 900p before upscaling shows that devs don’t care about optimization because they can slap on FSR or DLSS at the end.

Dude in my low end laptop i don't go lower than 480p in rare cases and most of the times only as low as 600p (tho I can go lower but I don't )
