Do you write in a journal or diary? 📔

@FrankJames

If so, what do you write in it (daily events, emotions, creative ideas, etc)? What do you like about consistently writing?

INTJ here. I do sometimes write my thoughts in a notebook. Part of it is a book I'm writing called "How humanity failed" and it's just patterns I've noticed throughout the years that has lead to the slow but sure destruction of humanity. The other half is personal trauma stuff that I've been healing from. I often go weeks without writing anything though.

INTP here! I have one. It's my brain dump. Overthinking? In the journal. Great day I never wanna forget? In the journal. Artsy fartsy stuff I made 'cause I was bored? In the journal. Rants about denim prices? In the journal. Random receipts, stickers, and wristbands? In the journal. It's like a friend replacement! 🥲

INFP,.. I write a diary everyday, I feel it helps a lot, emotionally, with focus, thinking things through. I do a to do list for the day too, I use a 2 page a day diary, if I get something done I cross it off if I don't do it I write it again on the next day, until I do it. That helps a lot, something I started doing in late middle age, I wish I'd done it when I was younger, it would have helped me have more focus, which i often lacked. I did the typical INFP thing in my youth of drifting through life , when INFP'S get into middle age they often get more grounded and stronger. Don't despair young INFP it gets better as you get older! 🙂👍🤞

ENFP - I write for two to three days, then I forget, and in a couple of months I remember about the journal, and the cycle repeats

INFJ, I note memorable events every day, if there are any. I started because I don't remember 2015 at all pretty much, and I don't want any more years to be forgotten.

I like seeing how my thoughts change over time. It helps me to get an outside perspective on myself. I usually laugh when going back to read what I wrote before.

Intj- I've journaled regularly for 27 years. Everything from events, ideas, goals, plans to reach them, dream Journaling because I get nightmares. I analyze my patterns by going back over old entries. So many times I suspected something and was right...it helped me gain confidence in my intuition. Helped me find my way out of a relationship with a narc... helped me realize in my 30s I was groomed by that narc in teen years. I was able to untangle decades of psychological crap and find clarity because I journaled it all.

INFJ-A : Do I write my thoughts? Sometimes. Do I write fiction snippets leaning heavily on things actively happening around me or going on in my head? YES. Every single day. Multiple times a day. It's actually a bit of a problem.

iSFJ here I used to write in it very detailed descriptions of my day to day life, interactions with friends ect out of fear of forgetting moments and memories. Now after moving away from my friend circle I only write to get things off my mind when I need to sleep

ENTP - i’ve been writing a journal (digitally) for almost 3 years every day… i mostly note down the things i did (daily events), things i learned or studied, things that inspired me, things i thought or thought of, etc, with sometimes a few photos or a drawing attached. i started journaling so that i can analyze my patterns.

Yes. I write about too many things to list. Most often I write about what I learn from books I’ve been reading, my thoughts on my world view, and interesting social situations I find myself in. I like to imagine I’m writing a book others will read.

ISTJ-T here who’s like 93% introverted. I tell myself that I should journal to process my emotions but I’m too scared that someone will find it lol
