In all fairness, you'd expect these Primarchs, most of whom have been full-grown adults for nearly a lifetime and often had adoptive parents of their own, wouldn't be such massive Daddy's boys towards this psychopathic stranger who came out of nowhere, stole them away, and put them in command of several thousand complete strangers who themselves seem to have creepy Daddy's boy complexes towards these people they've never met before.

I remember when he said that the reason he let the Primarchs call him father was related to the story of Pinnochio, the puppet who wanted to be a real boy. My response to him is: Um, Big E? Did you actually read the book or just a summary?

Surely, His actions won't have any unforseen consequences and nobody will take advantage of them

Just remember that Russ and Magnus agreed this was a bad move, and told Big E this to his face when he was planning to do this

Big E "Am I so out of touch?" music plays and he jumps on one of knan's bikes "I'm out of time."

Emps: Excellent. I have humiliated one of my most devoted sons and set him at odds with a brother who he'd have worked alongside perfectly for peaceful compliance campaigns and world building all to satisfy my raging secular boner. Truly, I am the peak of human evolution for setting this example. Meanwhile: Perturabo is turning every city he finds into rubble. Alpharius' shenanigan's make the CIA "Nation Building" look good. Mortarion has polluted and poisoned every world he touches. Angron thinks every campaign needs to be an IRL reenactment of Doom Eternal. Konrad is using the Geneva convention as a Fucking check list and is talking to corpses swinging on hooks above his bed. Emps:...Meh, so long as there aren't any churches, I'm sure it's fine.

Big E while remembering his time in Holy Terra before The Horus Heresy : You're out of touch I'm out of time And I'm out of my head When you're not around

Lorgar was absolutely wrong though. Like bombing monarchia was a bad call but lorgar had to be reigned in. In truth, lorgar should have joined the two "lost" primarchs

Unpopular Opinion: I personally think that Big E has no parental obligations to his kids. Why ? Because he didn't raise them save Horus and Maybe Alpharius (probably raised by Malcador since they're both secretive) and rulling a multiplanetary empire is no easy task . The primary reason why Primarchs are created is to serve as replacement for Big E's perpetual friends who abandoned him . They are also his generals. When he found most of them in thier adulthood, he expected them to follow him without any question. His sons were raised by people of other planets like Konor and Tarasha raised Gulliman.

I like Angron's speech to Leman Russ, that best describes Big E, it is my favorite quote: ‘You are free, Leman Russ of Fenris, because your freedom matches the Emperor’s will. For each time I wage war against worlds that threaten the Imperium’s advance, there comes another time when I am told to conquer peaceful worlds that wish only to be left alone. I am told to destroy whole civilisations and call it liberation. I am told to demand millions of men and women from these new worlds, to make them take up arms in the Emperor’s hordes, and I am told to call this a tithe, or recruitment, because we are too scared of the truth. We refuse to call it slavery.’ ‘Angron…’ Russ snarled. ‘Be silent! You have given your threats, dog. Now hear me. Listen to another hound barking, for once.’ ‘Then speak,’ Russ had said, as if permission were his to give. ‘I am loyal, the same as you. I am told to bathe my Legion in the blood of innocents and sinners alike, and I do it, because it is all that’s left for me in this life. I do these things, and I enjoy them, not because we are moral, or right – or loving souls seeking to enlighten a dark universe – but because all I feel are the Butcher’s Nails hammered into my brain. I serve because of this “mutilation”. Without it? Well, perhaps I might be a more moral man, like you claim to be. A virtuous man, eh? Perhaps I might ascend the steps of our father’s palace and take the slaving bastard’s head.’

Remember when big E made Conrad a sadistic maniac then assassinated him for basically being a sadistic maniac

Personal opinion but i think both biological parents of Primarch were problematic. Arda the Mother discarded all her sons in a warp portal to various places and Big E or Neoth was well you all know what happened
