Since Doom: The Dark Ages is the most lore heavy of the games, here's some weird Doom lore. It'd be cool if you did a game of true and false even though these are all real lore, as it gets absurd. For reference, this lore is mostly based on what was said in Eternal and 2016, but does have connections to The Dark Ages. - In Eternal. It's established that Doom Slayer is canonically the same DoomGuy in Doom 93 - Doom 64. With Doom 3 being an alternate universe. - Because of this, Doom Slayer is thus the descendant OG BJ Blazkowicz and Commander Keen. - In Wolfenstein RPG, the final boss is massive horned demon named The Harbinger of Doom that you chop off the left arm and right leg off. In every Doom game, the same limbs are prosthetics for the Cyber demons. -Hell is technically a borderworld (Similar to Half-Life's Xen) as Doom Slayer came from the Doom 93-64 Earth/universe to hell to Argent D'nur to the 2016-Eternal earth/universe. - The Aggadon Hunter enemies in The Dark Ages are actually from Earth, and existed before the dinosaurs. -It's implied that the Doom Slayer has hunted the Aggadon Hunters and Imp Stalkers to extinction, as those demons don't show up in 2016 and Eternal, but exist in The Dark Ages. - The remains of the Aggadon Hunters make up the Doom Hunters in Eternal. -The Makyrs, the angellic alien beings in Doom Eternal and Doom TDA, have posed as gods and offered technological enlightenment to civilisations for millions of years, possibly even past Humans. By The Dark Ages, The Makyrs have already done this with the Night Sentinels. - The Makyr species is a Hive mind, members can think independently but always have to follow their leader, the Khan Makyr. - Makyrs can die and resurrect themselves a process known as Transfiguration with the help of their god 'The Father', but can have their lifespans extended via Argent Energy. -The planet Argent D'Nur, that serves as the home of the Slayers Allies, the Night Sentinels, came to life after a giant spear crashed into the planet, and birthed lifeforms known as the Wraiths, then giants named Ancestrals, then the Argenta, the humans we see in Doom TDA. - The Night Sentinels, were formed to guard the Wraiths, and were also empowered by them via Wraith or Sentinel Energy. Sentinel Energy also powers the Atlan Mechs. -The wraiths and the giant spear originate from the Cosmic Realm (the lovecraftian dimension you explore in The Dark Ages) -Argent Energy is the red stuff that makes up the dragons wings and other weapons. It's a combo of Hells Essence(souls of mortals) and Sentinel Energy. -Hell actually used to be a realm known as Jekkad, said to be the first world ever created in the Doom universe, created and ruled by Davoth, the dark lord. -Davoth, wanting to secret to immortality, created the Makyrs and The Father, who eventually sealed him and Jekkad away, along with stealing his powers of creation after finding the secret to immortality. - Thus, Davoth made Jekkad into Hell with his rage. - Davoth also looks like the Doom Slayer, possibly because Doom Slayer is an Alternate Universe version of Davoth. Anyway, how do you feel about the story of Doom The Dark Ages and how nonsensical do you find the lore and plot of it?

@dio469

Is Doom 2016 the most successful reboot ever? I can’t think of any other video game reboot that did as well and paved a path as well as it did

I know that you guys played the ps4 ratchet and clank on an episode, and I don't know if you remember much of it since. But im such a huge fan of this podcast and ratchet and clank, so I was wondering... Does this doom game have any similarities to ratchet and clank, as im interested in seeing if I'd like this game...
