Windows 11 KB5067036 finally fixed my Settings homepage freezing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA5KU... So, was this a bug that you were also experiencing?

@jpcoll2011

It was a pain in the arse for months . Had to keep forcing a log out and going back in to get it working.

For me it takes 2-4 seconds to open network or sound settings from taskbar. And by no means I have a "slow" machine.

Yes, with 24H2. I have to see if I have that update installed. Not a serious bug, but something that NEVER happened on every version of Windows prior.

I haven't touched windows 11 in over a month or so as I want full control so I've been playing around with XP and my main HTC Touch Pro 2 I have another but I don't really want to touch it because it's on it's stock ROM and I've never flashed these wacky beasts before so I only use the one that already has a custom ROM installed as that's how I bought it

Hey Bren, yes, clearly a bug I have encountered. The entire settings homepage frozen in Windows 11 for a while and then it is loading but as you also said, Bren, it sometimes takes time to load the homepage, and other times it loads right away. It's very annoying, and I've seen it on other Windows 11 computers too. However, I have not installed the latest optional Windows 11 update that you have, Bren, but as you said, it seems to fix the settings homepage loading time. But as you know, we have a new bug in the optional W11 update: the Task Manager bug (it refuses to quit and hogs memory if you close the Task Manager window in the normal way). You have to end the task as you showed, or you can close Task Manager in Command Prompt (admin) with this command: taskkill.exe /im taskmgr.exe /f. Microsoft is aware of this Task Manager bug and is working on a fix, but it needs to be fixed fast because if something breaks in Task Manager, that is not good at all. I have a new W11 Copilot PC like that laptop and i have a older Msi gaming laptop both run W11 25H2 pro full support for W11 and both have that slow loading time in Windows 11 settings home page so yes I can also attest that it is definitely a bug but it seems to be fixed with the latest optional update for Windows 11. Windows updates need to be better and improved. Optional updates are one thing, but regular Windows 11 updates also need to be improved. When I work with my computers and a new Windows Patch Tuesday update rolls out, I wonder to myself, "Are my computers going to work okay, or what is going to be broken?" But yes i like W11 but as i sad W11 updates needs to improved and tested more take care Bren and i want also say that you have a very good YouTube channel with news and tips and tricks greetings from Nils.

No problems with the settings homepage, but my W11 laptop still won't install 24H2 or 25H2, after weeks of trying. Can I go back to good ol' W10, please? 😢
