Ngl ambessa actually felt like a real threat as a villain where Silco felt more like the annoying crime boss

Ambessa is a well written and compelling villain/antagonist But Silco, like, SILCO... he is a masterclass in writing 🎓

Silco is peak, but that doesn't mean Ambessa is mid. Ambessa is still well written.

Ambessa isn't bad at all, it's just that Silco was on a whole new level.

In my mind, this is a competition between fantastic and mind-blowing. Both characters are, imo, incredible, but Silco's motives tie him to Piltover and Zaun, including all the other people that live there. His history IS Piltover and Zaun's history. That makes him far more compelling and complex than Ambessa, who, although still brilliant, is an external threat with no connection to any other character except Mel. She doesn't even know most of the other characters exist, and has virtually no understanding of the local politics, besides how useful the situation in front of her is to further her own ambitions. Her motives are largely alien to the problems and themes established in season 1, which led to a sense that a lot of the issues the audience had learned about, and grew to care about in season 1, were side-lined in order to introduce Noxus and the Black Rose, which might not have been a problem if all this had taken place in a third season, rather than the second. As well-written and brilliantly acted as she was, Ambessa's motivation of need for more power/better weapons to save her own skin simply isn't as compelling as Silco's complex puzzle of motives and shifting priorities that would take an entire essay to even scratch the surface of.

I'm an Ambessa simp but I can't deny silco is better written. I'm currently reading the Ambessa book and it's also very simply written, it is what it is.

Pretty sure had Silco and Ambessa been a little younger, they likely could have achieved their goals. I’m saying this because they falter because they each have someone in their way and it is whom they love. Like Silco with Jinx and Ambessa with Mal

Silco had more of that something and sinister dark intent you could prolly never guess with the perfect amount of fear and control and even weakness and insecurity to his character that made him stand out well as a iconic villain almost. Ambessa was much less a villain and more so just another power hungry figure who’s all flash with little to hide in her character besides being a mother. Admittedly I might be downplaying her true character as she was creative and clearly thought out, but unfortunately she doesn’t scream villain, she just screams another one of arcanes warriors that season 2 either forgot to flesh out properly or rushed it.

As a villain I got Ambessa Silco was a cool character but he never felt like an antagonist or a villain. We were never on the edge of are seats because of his actions agaisnt the other characters. Infact due to the writing a lot of us wanted him to win or atleast understood his method to madness ratio. But Ambessa made me feel like if the characters didn’t get there act together they were all gonna die.

Ambessa is AMAZING, but she needs more development or more time on screen. Silco is king.

Silco by a looooong shot. He had ideals, he had principles, but he was also willing to get his hands dirty to achieve his vision of Zaunite independence. Ambessa was just power hungry from start to finish.
