As an ex firefighter, we do have a lot of time to workout as call up rates are not as high as police officers, operationally. Yes firefighting is a tough vocation and trainings to be certified is really pressuring. But it would be nice to respect other vocations as well. We’ve even been taught by safety officers from construction industry on how to handle certain industrial equipments to assist and add value our operations. And i’ve seen some of my teammates finding it hard to maneuver with those equipments as well. Still, my respects to the police officers and construction workers

Not construction workers. Cigarettes and monsters for breakfast and a gas station pb&j for lunch. Been in the trades for 20 years and it’s a very unfit bunch

I did construction for years and I can say its not the most healthy trade sure strength wise you'll definitely get stronger but thats about it I would say fire fighters with their training keeps them more fit than us if I had to put my hat in the ring

@HiDef17

You have to be strong to be a firefighter, you get strong by being a construction worker. There’s a difference

Firefighters get paid to work out and cops don't. Some police departments are introducing paid workout time, but folks generally freak out when they hear cops are getting paid to be in the gym. And then they complain that cops are out of shape🤷‍♂

@BlueCatBuilds

It’s definitely not construction workers, although they do have good stamina if the cardio is not too intense

Firefighters bro, only firefighters 😁

@watchdog4454

I’d say firefighters because they have the most free time to workout as well as having a physically demanding job

Alot of firefighters go to my gym daily. And they are all fit and in shape. I havent seen one out of shape firefighter honestly. I also live 2 blocks away from firestation and have never seen a chubby or fat firefighter. Seen many overweight cops and some construction workers. Theres too many jobs in construction that some just gain weight easy

@Uncle19

We only have volunteer fire fighters in my area. For some reason they tend to be the least fit people on the block.

@TOgood-n8s

Firefighters are very strong and fast and have endurance so they win but shout-out to construction workers they're strong af

@MattMcConaha

A large portion of construction workers are literally some of the most unfit people I have seen in my life. They really don't need to be fit, but depending on the trade they may be strong in specific ways. Idk about cops, but I'm under the impression that firefighters are actually in shape. Like, it's part of the culture, it's part of the job, and from what I've heard they are encouraged to exercise on the job when there aren't better things to do.

Firefighter. I worked at a dept for 8 months and we trained with full gear twice a week. Pulling hoses, training course in the back of the station, weights, hitting wood with an ax, jogging, etc. Cops dont train for s**t 🤣
