As many of my regular viewers and subscribers will know, I have been following the story of the Godstone Sinkhole since it first opened and hit the headlines in February this year. In August, I made my fourth visit, and progress appeared to be good. Confidence seemed to be high about having the work completed by December. However, I have just made my fifth visit to the site and found a very different story. Investigations into the lost tunnel network are still ongoing, and the ground remains too unstable and unsafe to take the next phases of the necessary work. As a result, there is no longer a reasonable estimate for completion in place. To find out the full story, please watch my latest video, which will be available to view from 7pm GMT on Saturday, 29th November 2025.
