As an American, if I were Canadian I would be insulted by the thought of wanting to be an American.

Never! What an insult. Sorry Gabe but the American president to be is delusional. From a proud Canadian.

Most Canadian people would be offended by the thought. They enjoy a higher standard of life

I'm a proud Canadian and want to keep things like they are But I think these threat for Trump will be beneficial for the medium/long term. We've been sleeping for too long..with America having everything weve got..for a ridiculous discount Its a wake up call Too many Canadians has seen their day to day life change for the worst with Trudeau

Good question. Another option. I think the EU model could work well in North America. Independent nations but a common market, a common currency, and free movement of labour. I don’t see it happening any time soon though. Would be great if retirees could move freely and reside wherever they want without restrictions. There is currently no retirement visa for North America. Seems a little out of date. With retirees not taking jobs, and contributing their savings to the local economy, they should be allowed to reside wherever they want without unnecessary time and tax restrictions in my opinion. Thanks for visiting Canada Gabriel and all the best on your travels to Mexico and beyond!

I’m a Canadian and I do need to say it is a stupid question. It’s the same as asking if Britain or Germanyshould become part of the US. The US is a very arrogant country and assume Canada wants to become part of the US for some stupid reason. They have no idea what Canadians are like but we do not want to be any part of your mess.

I'm American, but I don't think most Canadians would qualify to be American: they already gave up their guns.

Why would you even need to entertain this question Gabriel?? Go enjoy Mexico brother!

Gabe worried that his new Canadian passport might become defunct!

None of the above: better if the US became the 11th Canadian province.

That's a great idea Gabriel, Canadians would love to join USA. Come to think of it, why not get Mexico in as the 52nd state.

Canada has a LOT of work to do to fix our many economic and social problems, but this 51st thing is a total distraction.

Shall remain independent, but becoming a federal republic would be nicer though. Regarding the question about the hypothetical union with the US, perhaps makes more sense to formulate it, that whether the constituent provinces of Canada shall join the US, since "Canada" as such would be slightly big to be a single administrative unit...

Gabriel Traveler
I'm curious to hear from my viewers on the subject of whether you think Canada should join the US and become the 51st state. Feel free to vote and/or comment.
