@indigomer

Still a broke college student who’s never bought an optic and is still learning to shoot well at all, gonna work on the fast part later.

@Papakhan9636

Trick question: either are faster with enough training.

@Henny860God

I’ve never really used a red dot or anything like that so I would feel iron sights for me

@thedirtbag7

I mount the red dot on my wrist like a watch and hold my pistol Chicago style

Tried running an optic and If I use it in the dark it is to bright and if I use it in the day it’s not bright enough, they have their places but I believe ccw is not one of them

59 comments as of writing this. I read all of them. Literally every single one of them was either complete BS or some kind of old rhetoric from the 90’s. I can’t believe people still believe some of this stuff. Most of the comments deserve a “no, that is not how any of that works” or “that’s just plain stupid”.

I just recently started using hand gun optics and it’s been a lot of getting used to. I always shot iron sight until I started doing competition shooting and at times I feel it slows me down trying to find the dot rather the instinctive shooting I do with my irons. Practice and commitment will be key

It's great until the dot was turned down dim over night, then the next day go to draw and it's so dim it isn't even visible in daylight.

Me personally irons on my pistol I’ve been shooting with them my whole life so I’d rather just hone and refine the skills I already have. But red dots do help you acquire your sight picture faster generally speaking one day I’d like to give pistol red dots a try and sharpen my skills.

I co witness all my dots. After shooting with them for a few years whenever I extend without a dot the irons are right where I need them

Ive been practicing with just 👉 pointing, and not fully looking down sights. Took some time but its great! Especially since one of my eyes are injured. Less eye strain, and quicker draws

The better shooter

Both. It was weird with a dot at first but with training, it became second nature just like fixed irons. Now i prefer a co witness dot

Whatever you train with is what youll be faster with . Once you start shooting at high level i dont think it matters as much . I'll always take Dot over Irons . theres dudes out there who can shoot way better than me with irons even though im using a dot

@Fleshwound747

And surprisingly enough after shooting a dot for the last 5 years I can pick up irons better faster now also

Don't have an optic on my pistol and outside of that, haven't taken my scope off my hunting rifle, like ever.
