@BrowniePembroke

the thing with teflon is that during the time rio was made, it was still pretty common hell, its still common now since most people hold onto cookware for years

I love the fact that none of the inaccuracies are about the adulterous toucan

In all honesty, not many of us are ornithology majors, so we wouldn't be outraged, but good job with the integrity and honesty.

Honestly I did think it was weird to say the bird evolution started 66M years ago when it was way earlier than that lol

If it makes you feel any better I'm also a biology major and a zoology TA and I'm going to do my internship in an entomology lab soon and I still get things about bugs wrong all the goddamn time. Everyone makes mistakes, and it's good that you have the courage to admit when you're wrong (especially since in academia that's an extremely rare trait lmaoo) Anyway all this to say you're still a super cool and awesome soon-to-be ornithologist don't worry 🐦

@Solscalr

I would still recommend looking to see if Teflon is in cookware before you buy it just in case there is.

I love a big pile of corrections to a well researched video. It's like a dessert after a good meal and also very funny (you made a great video and the addendums are awesome)

@TomiiStorm

there's one mistake that bugged me a little, a spelling mistake in fact since i'm portuguese (pt specifically), i immediately caught the fact that you used the wrong spelling of "carnaval" in the video but pronounced it correctly funnily enough (instead using "carnival" which does mean something different when translated to portuguese) aside from that, i'm not qualified enough to correct anything else lmao (YOU'VE BEEN SPARED FOR NOW >:] /j) great video btw, that was peak :D

The fact that you’re so diligently correcting your mistakes and inaccuracies is kinda just proof that we should listen to you if you ask me

@InkGraffiti

There's a high chance Blu's wings were clipped as well which really would be the only way he would get to full maturity and still not be able to fly. Birds aren't taught to fly by their parents, they know instinctively and hone the skill with practice - this is why if you see a bird on the floor, leave it there! It doesn't mean mom has abandoned it, ALL baby birds have floor time while they gain confidence. But this is relevant because he'd have SEVERE muscle atrophy from being flightless for years? / having never developed flight muscles in the first place. It'd take LOTS of physical therapy and conditioning to get him flight ready. Tl;dr the part at the end where he randomly teaches himself how to fly in order to save Jewel and is then able to not only carry himself but also her, and he never has flight troubles ever again, is absolutely hooey!

I enjoy the unapologetic edits in the video, owning up to your mistakes and properly informing the masses

you shouldn't be sorry, your point is valid. My first thought watching Rio in theathre was "It's a miracle Linda's care didn't helped those parrots to extinct"

Seeing this after watching the video and the corrections really enhance the experience, I love seeing the commitment to getting the facts right! Shows a passion for the project. 😆

@Barakon

Realistically, tamed parrots have little prospects in terms of surviving in the wild because of how they're imprinted on humans. They may seek humans as mate options instead of other birds or just not have the skills needed for survival due to being used to be fed every day.

I was one of the people who corrected the feral/domestic thing. I work with feral, domestic and wild animals extremely often as I work in animal rehab and rescue. I appreciate the correction a ton as the words are very specific to what they mean and sadly are often confused for one another so it's a pretty normal and common mistake so don't beat yourself up <3 I am grateful for you fixing it though really helps out the actual wild, vrs. Feral domestic populations since feral critters do a lot of damage but are also only there because of us. The words meanings are a lot more important to conservation, wildlife rehab work and domestic rescue than people realize <3 and getting them confused often leads to us in the rescue world getting animals dropped off to us that we can't help, liek the wildlife rehab i work at constantly gets pigeons but we aren't legally allowed to treat them so we have to euthinize them or find a pigeon rescue that adopts them out as pets (thankfully there's one nearby)

I think it's neat that we're all learning new things from your Rio movie video, yourself included! I hope we get to learn more fun/silly things in the future too! Don't be too hard on yourself, human or bird we all make mistakes lol
