Yes, I spend a lot of time fishing from my inflatable Bote! Mostly fly fishing. Love it!

They have their benefits. If you get one, be sure to get an electric pump. It can be a pain to inflate them to 12psi with a hand pump. All of mine fold up into backpacks so I can hike them into mountain lakes, but when I have the ability to park close to the lake, I stick with a kayak. Even with an electric pump, you still have to wait for it to inflate, and you have to clean and fold it before putting it away. I just toss the kayaks on the racks and spray them with the hose when I get home.

Personally, I think they’re great for fishing if you don’t mind standing. Though, you can lay down and or sit on the paddleboard as it’s quite stable might take a little bit to get used to for balancing, but once you’ve got the hang of it, it’s really easy.

Yes! Used to do it down in Austin TX. Great choice looking at a SUP capable of additional attachments, especially the seat back! Just don’t forget a flashlight and emergency paddle, darkness can be more intense on the water, and everyone drops their paddle eventually 😂

I use mine at the beach to fish in the sound. They make a lot of cool accessories for SUPs now to make fishing easier.

My dad just bought one for himself, you can strap down an ice chest onto it for storage, but not only storage, you can use that same ice chest for a seat too. They're really cozy.

I used to have a sit on top fishing kayak but sold it for a SUP and will never go back. The convenience of the inflatable SUP is perfect, and I have no issue fishing from mine

I have and i prefer it way more than taking a boat, its also great if you want to need to make your way through more shallow waters.

I bought an inflatable body glove paddle board from Costco a few years back, not sure if they still sell it but I believe it has a GoPro mount if you have an second camera available:)

I've seen people do it on smaller lakes. But it depends on how you interpret calm. Here, calm means just shy of whitecaps, so I'm definitely getting tossed around in the kayak, where you're at calm might be glassy. Either way, get ready for fish to drag you around a bit.

Never seen an inflatable one. Personally I wouldn’t recommend standup ones for fishing, but if you are more experienced with both kayaking and fishing, then have at it!

Theyre very solid if a process to inflate. Very convenient to transport.

Definitely, I’d get a 7 foot one for rivers. But reinforce the sides so you don’t fall over if you have a monster pike on.

Ephemeral Rift
Anyone here ever fish from an inflatable SUP (Standup Paddle Board)? Thinking of getting one instead of a solid kayak for occasional calm lake fishing (since I won’t ever be going down a river).
