Lil Cypher Yap Session: Ngl The Pomni and Jax Friendship Bond reminded me of Mr Puzzles and Mr WPNZ Bond. A friendship that was close to be perfect for eachother but the Deuteragonist (Mr Puzzles and Jax) push them away pretending their bond was just temporary
Mr Puzzles: He did that so he would get Meggy and the others approval that he changed brushing WPNZ and Toomp as Mindless Crooks. People also say he should've went through the border and while yes that technically would be better but it'll give him guilt as if he did got to the border then that would mean the crew just would think he's still the same person and hate him and meggy would think she was a fool to think he would redeem and breaking Leggy's trust (He still would break their trust shown in the movie but I think you know what I mean). So if you really think about it Mr Puzzles didn't really have an great options and that's the heart breaking truth about that.
Jax: He did that because he doesn't want to have the same thing happen to Pomni like to his old friend, he clearly cares for Pomni but he tries to be deflecting and brush it off it was a temporary bond basically trying to mask himself to not show a human emotion which is perfectly described in this video https://youtu.be/kOUs5KzEiWo?si=9QPAS... leading to him almost abstracting and guilt, the character who seemed to be the least suspecting character to abstract becomes the most broken character in the Circus
Basically when Both said that Their friendship was just a means to an end, they obviously don't mean that and both have different and valid reasons on why even if it's heartbreaking And I also like how WPNZ and Pomni react to this
WPNZ: After he got separated from his family and them just not thinking about him anymore (Basically viewing him as a bad memory) when he finally found puzzles and Toomp, he regains more than just friends type bonding, it's more of a family bond and when Puzzles betrays he goes full rage as he can get angry easily and that betrayal was basically the final Straw, even trying to kill Mr Puzzles from blind rage, and when escaping from the death cube he sees a TV reminding him of puzzles, he almost cries but covers that up with rage of betrayal and destroys it, showing that he's fully broken from this betrayal
Pomni: She's a way more calm and composed character and at first she was confused and bewildered when Jax started to talk about their friendship was fake, she then saddens and tries to compose herself and ask serious questions and when Jax keeps deflecting and treats it like a joke she Gets frustrated and learns why he's doing this, to not show a human emotion and brings up that this might be the reason of abstraction and when Jax lashes out accidentally showing emotions she begins to apologize trying to calm down the situation but then asks what would happen if Jax saw her abstract and when Jax gives out the answer she Gets heart broken, and basically from losing another friend (Gumigoo) and when Jax starts to treat it like a joke she starts to fight him and tries to get him to fight back and if he fully did then that would mean all he said was true but he doesn't and when he starts to crash out she begins to be shocked for a long time from the interaction and begins to always think about it, but she hadn't lost hope yet and even looking back at him showing she still cares and knows that this can be fixed (gun's N puzzles reference "I'm going to fix this)
So yeah it's just peak writing from both Friendships.
