I have a fair knowledge of these. But a lesson on each will always be welcome as every lesson you bring is innovative and helpful for second language learning. I love your lessons and the way you deliver them. Good luck!

Hey Teacher, Would you mind explaining phrasal modal verb " ought to " in detail?

Could Have + Past Participle: Meaning: Indicates that something was possible in the past, or you had the ability to do it, but you ultimately didn’t do it. Examples: “I could have stayed up late, but I decided to go to bed early.” “They could have won the race, but they didn’t try hard enough.” “Julie could have bought the book, but she borrowed it from the library instead.” Note: “Couldn’t have + past participle” expresses that something wasn’t possible in the past, even if you wanted to do it. Would Have + Past Participle: Meaning: Used to make a guess about something that happened in the past. It’s based on opinion, not certainty. Examples: “Why is John late? He could have got stuck in traffic.” “He could have forgotten that we were meeting today.” We can also use “might have” for the same purpose: “He might have overslept.” Should Have + Past Participle: Meaning: When advising someone else or expressing regret about your own actions in the past. “I should have studied harder!” (Regret about not studying hard enough) “You should have called me when you arrived.” (Advice to someone else) To talk about something that, under normal circumstances, has already happened (often used with “by now”). “His plane should have arrived by now.” “John should have finished work by now.”
