Which version of the GBA was your favourite and why?

@ferret7studio

So many fond memories of laying in the grass in the campus quad and playing Final Fantasy Tactics on my SP. That thing got me through a lot of down time in college.

Og gba feels the best in your hands

I cant lie that the original landscape gba screen is what i spent the most time with and remember the most fondly. I stared at that pixel grid for hours playing Advance Wars. The grid lines of that screen are forever embedded in my memory. However, the sp 101 is just wayy more convenient and easier to see, so it's definitely my favorite. The clamshell form factor is perfect to fit in your pocket and somehow still feels really nice in the hand. You just can't beat it.

Micro, yes it's small but damn what a piece. It'll still look cool in 2199

The SP was the perfect Gameboy. It took them forever, but it finally caught up to demands modern handheld device standards

Original GBA. Even tho the lighting sucked, it didn't make my hand cramp like an SP.

I’m in the minority but I prefer the micro. Backlit screen and the graphics look great on that small screen. Also really portable. Yeah it’s hard for some people to see and it can’t play GB/GBC games or use the E-Reader but it’s still cool.

I vote for SP. The og Gameboy is great and is super comfy, but the SP is a game changer.

I loved the SP for its clicky buttons, backlit screen and the fact that it folded over making it easy to carry in your pocket with no risk of damaging the screen

The AGS-101 was objectively the best one on a technical level. For me though, the design of the original one was flawless ^^

I'd like to add the GBA backward compatibility that the DS Lite has as it is how I played GBA game back in Elementary School and how I play them today on my current DS Lite.

It was hard justify buying the ags101 SP if you already had bought the original GBA and SP when they came out. Now if the ags101s wasn’t so expensive, more people would have picked that. These days I use a micro because it’s most convenient though!

SP 101. The screen improvement was glorious at the time over the original SP.

People voting for the AGS-101 like they had it back in the day. Of course you did.

Og gba best ergonomic design by far

Of official variants, SP 101. It only wins over the original because of the backlight. Give the OG a backlight, and then it wins.

@drunkenbuttons606

The original GBA is the best design for me because of how comfortable it is to hold compared to the other variations. Especially now that you can mod it with a rechargeable battery pack and backlit screen.

The 101. Best screen and form factor together.
