“A shutdown falls on the President’s lack of leadership. He can’t even control his own party and get people together in a room. A shutdown means the president is weak.” - Donald J Trump!!! 2013

The Democrats have given Trump a gift to keep reducing the size of government with this lockdown. The longer the better.

The fact that this is still happening in America where they just shut down the government and people are not up in arms about it is completely ridiculous..... Truthfully and honestly the political system among other things in America is I don't know what ancient to old or completely stupid I haven't put my finger on it. Between the aforementioned periodic closures just because the way voting happens beginning with the right to vote The where to vote and what voting takes place during the week of all times in the year and let's never forget the electoral college whatever the hell that means and the gerrymandering it's completely the wackiest system in the world. On top of all that the water has become in the last I don't know how many years is a complete joke of doing absolutely nothing or even if you accomplish something because of either compromise or over majority the next election he gets shut down by the other side I mean what are we doing here????? It's a lot worse than one step forward two steps back it's just a complete c******** of I don't know what to call it??????? I honestly think that in this time in history maybe America should look into hiring people a lot less people to run it or even better yet how about will let AI take over ?????? No matter what I'm sure you'll be a better and more fairer system than that and in the end it would cost a hell of a lot less and create a lot less havoc Don't you agree???????

The government shutdown entered its 17th day Friday with no end in sight, tying it for the third-longest federal work stoppage in US history.
The shutdown — the first since President Trump's initial term in office — began on Oct. 1 after funding bills from Republicans and Democrats failed to reach a key threshold in the Senate.
Both sides have remained dug into their positions ever since. A Thursday vote in the Senate provided the chamber's 10th failure to advance the GOP plan and then lawmakers headed home for the weekend.
By the time they return Monday, the shutdown will be in its 20th day.
"Many of you have asked all of us how it will end," Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson said. "We have no idea."
