I got into the Hunger Games this year, and I absolutely loved Catching Fire; but my other favorite was Empty Theatre by Jac Jemc, a historical fiction book about the lives of Empress Elisabeth of Austria and King Ludwig II of Bavaria (they were cousins and they both had lives that are deserving of an 8 episode limited series)

Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh. My Year or Rest and Relaxation, also by Ottessa Moshfegh was great too. Due to being set in 2001it doesn't feature heavy use of technology, and it feels kind of nostalgic. I love the way Moshfegh writes women.

My absolute favorite book of all time I happened to read this year, I know I may be one of the only people that loved the fact that you never really get a conclusion about what power the house holds , from what posts about it I’ve seen, but I digress, you should read the haunting of hill house by Shirley Jackson!

Happy new year! I did not read a lot this year but my favorite book was This Is How You Lose The Time War. It had a great impact on me and opened up so many possibilities of what kind of stories and writing styles are possible. The writing is *chef's kiss*. It also boosted my own writing journey!
