Lessons from the Screenplay

In our latest podcast episode, we revisit Sicario. I thought this movie was okay the first time I saw it, but upon revisiting it, I think it's *great*. Beautiful filmmaking that elevates the script, which is already full of dense, compelling themes and uncomfortable portraits of our reality.

On face value this movie seems so basic, it nearly has no reason to be so goddamn good. What a cast! And shot by Deakins 😮‍

Had the same experience with Sicario. Only ok at first viewing, great on second. The reverse was true of the king.
