Ok, so. my wife made these for my birthday lunch with my parents last week. Absolutely phenomenal. So happy I bought two bags of soy curls when I was doing the shopping, because I’m requesting them again this weekend. And as a non-vegan I generally LOVE your recipes. They are not just good for plant based foods, they are just good. Special bonus because of how easy this one is to prepare too. (I also recommend a mustard based bbq, but I don’t care for most bbq sauces)

Excellent! I'll also note that certain Asian markets and Seventh-Day Adventist groceries will sell soy curls as "Taiwanese Beef Slice"; something I found out at a local H-Mart and later found Vegan Hacks chime in on :) Be sure to soak them in water (or a flavorful broth) for a bit, and squeeze all the moisture out. Marination also helps with any residual dry soy taste in the middle, if under-soaked

Will be trying this recipe!! Soy chunks also make a great replacement for vegan “burnt ends”.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love using soy chunks for making a vegan bolognese. It keeps me satiated, it doesn't upset my stomach and the way that I cook it is just so flavourful! I can't wait to use soy chunks in different dishes. I would love to make like a burger patty with the smaller chunks or some "meat"balls. While we both eat meat, minced meat just gives me the heebie jeebies. I will only eat it if my mom makes it.

What brand of soya products do you use? Anyone? All I see has a description saying it's possibly GMO 😢

These look amazing! Can you do a mock pulled pork vid with King Oyster Mushrooms? 🍄

The first time I made these saucy BBQ sandwiches, Max couldn't believe it wasn't pulled pork.
Magical soy curls are the secret ingredient, and they're pan-fried until crisp and chewy, then slathered in my homemade BBQ sauce for an epic sticky-sweet-smoky barbecue experience. Piled high on toasted buns with coleslaw, tomatoes, and pickles, this is a sandwich you won’t be able to stop eating!

PS: If you live outside of the U.S., instead of soy curls, you can try using TVP or “soya chunks” or your favorite meat replacement.
