Thank you for doing this. My sincerest condolences to all of you at HERD. Israel was a dedicated and much loved carer to the herd, a beloved husband and father. You have lost a good man and a friend. I wish you love and healing during this tragic time. My love and heart goes out to all the elephants, especially Limpopo.

When I go to church tomorrow, I will light 2 candles. One for Israel Shambira, our beloved Carer and one for Limpopo Jabulani, our beloved elephant and daughter of our matriarch, Tokwe. Both special, both loved and esteemed beyond words. May these 2 candles burn brightly, representing the respect we have for both human and animal kind. We must keep in mind that Israel and Limpopo walked together for so many years. There is healing, there must be forgiveness so that the rhythm of life may go on; cherishing what was and what is to come... Sometimes in life crazy and unpredictable things happen. Mistakes occur. So, maybe we should be sensitive to both sides. It is wonderful that we have established a fund for Israel and his family. He would be touched by this. May God bless the Shambira family and our HERD family π

OMG, I've just read the HERD website. I am so very sorry for the loss of Israel. His dedication to the herd was unwavering and steadfast. May he rest in peace. May he find comfort in looking after Phabeni and all the other youngsters we've lost along the way. May his Legacy of selflessness never be forgotten. Prayers to his family, may you find your way through the darkness in your Love. I am also so very sorry that it was at the hand of Limpopo. I can't imagine the utter confusion that is accompanying this horrible tragedy that has to be navigated. I've read Tigere's initial statement about everything being fine, but details are often discovered after a bit of time has passed and investigations may be undertaken. I look forward to a time down the line when other clues or answers may be available to help alleviate what I'm sure you have all felt at one moment or other, the sheer surreality of such a sweet elephant engaging in such behavior with her long time companion and caregiver. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for all of you having to navigate this horrible experience. To grieve while gathering clues. To ask reasonable questions when filled with sorrow. With the sensitivity of elephants being so renowned, and on display regularly with our herd, I am hoping Limpopo wasn't hard to handle after the fact nor is still suffering from either what caused her to do it or the reality of what she did settling in on her. I am praying for you all. May Love carry your grief.

I have just recently discovered your channel and have enjoyed each and every video you have out there. My heartfelt condolences to Mr. Israel and his family. He will be missed and his family will see him again when Jesus comes back to claim his children. My prayers are also with you Ms. Adine and the rest of your staff and family that you are able to continue the great work that you do now and that you will find comfort in knowing that you made a difference in that man's life and in the lives of your human herd and the elephants. I will continue to be a follower and contributor to your cause and channel.

Thank you for this. We are entirely grateful for this. I just want to say there is a lot of speculation of this story from people who don't fully know the story or even know Israel. I've watched the Herd Elephant Orphanage for years, and I want to express my gratitude for what they do. All aspects. From the carers to the managers. Keep spreading the truth community. We will remember you Israel. He has family, friends, and a community who adore him. Sending my condolences β€
