Well, I was going to post a review of WAR OF THE WORLDS 2025 today, but apparently YouTube's AI system can't tell if my video contains footage from it or not (it doesn't). I've tried uploading it twice now, and it keeps getting stuck. Ergo, I'm calling it a wash. Short version: the movie is fascinatingly bad. It's not quite enjoyable enough to be so-bad-it's-good, but it is close. It is also the worst adaptation of the story I've seen to date. Ridiculous highlights include: - Amazon Prime delivery and gift cards being vital to the plot - A biologist thinks that removing a foreign object from a severe wound will decrease the bleeding - Humans fight back against the aliens and actually win, which goes completely against the original story - Outdated reference to a Staples slogan - The government spying on people is wrong, but the hero can only save the day because he spies on people for the government - Multiple dumb, cheap fake-out deaths - Backgrounds glitch while foreground objects remain unchanged - Terrible lip synching - "He said it!" moment - Tripod heads can detach and fly, thus raising the question of why they are tripods to begin with Eat your heart out, Orson.
