Do you know what is one of the biggest reasons why people miss out of Laylatul-Qadr?
In a sahih hadith, it was narrated that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came out to tell when exactly Laylatul-Qadr occurs — the precise night of Laylatul-Qadr. But as he was about to tell the Ummah, he saw two men quarrelling. The Prophet ﷺ said:
🔹 ❛I came out to inform you about Laylatul-Qadr, but such-and-such persons were quarrelling, so the news about it had been taken away.❜
The piece of information Allah gave him about Laylatul-Qadr was taken away, so he no longer remembered it. Then the Prophet ﷺ said:
🔸 ❛Perhaps that (i.e. not knowing the date of Laylatul-Qadr) is for your own good, so search for it [especially] on the 29th, 27th and 25th [of Ramadan].❜ 【Sahih al-Bukhari 2023】
The loss of the barakah of Laylatul-Qadr’s date is gone because of unnecessary fighting, and argumentation. This hadith indicates how bad it is if we were to argue and fight, especially in these last 10 nights of Ramadan, for it is a cause of goodness being taken away or concealed.
May Allah grant us all beautiful patience and wisdom, so that we may witness Laylatul-Qadr with the most excellent acts of worship that are accepted by Allah.
