A small number of people are responding to my recent videos negatively. A couple of thumbs down, but more on thumbs up. I wish to make one more statement of my defense of my stance:
Matt 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes! Go out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
Jesus tells us the church will be given a midnight cry to be ready! The church then trims their lamps because they know the season is here. He warned us what to look for:
Matt 24:3 ...the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world?
6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must occur; but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in different places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Matt 24:43 But know this, that if the steward of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched and would not have allowed his house to be dug through.
This shows the Lord wants us to know that midnight call.
44 Therefore you also be ready, for in that hour you think not, the Son of man comes.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord has made ruler over His household, to give them food in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant whom his Lord shall find him doing so when He comes.
47 Truly I say to you that He shall make him ruler over all His goods.
Matt 16:1 The Pharisees and the Sadducees came to Him, tempting Him. And they asked Him that He would show them a sign from Heaven.
2 He answered and said to them, When it is evening, you say, Fair weather; for the sky is red.
3 And in the morning, Foul weather today; for the sky is red and gloomy. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky, but you cannot see the signs of the times!
Israel didn't watch for the signs of Christ's return and warns us in scripture to know the signs. Why would he warn us to be awake and watch without telling us what to watch for?
1 Thess 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I write to you.
2 For you yourselves know accurately that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety! Then sudden destruction comes on them, as travail upon a woman with child. And they shall not escape.
4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the Day should overtake you like a thief.
5 You are all the sons of light and the sons of the day. We are not of the night, or of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be calm.
Ezek 38:8 After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you shall come into the land turned back from the sword, gathered out of many peoples, on the mountains of Israel... (But he has been brought out of the peoples, and they shall dwell securely, all of them.)
9 And you shall go up, coming like a storm. You shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you and all your bands, and many peoples with you.
10 ...And it shall be in that day that things shall come into your heart, and you shall devise an evil plan.
11 And you shall say, I will go up to the land of open spaces. I will go to those at ease, who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and there are no bars nor gates to them,
Rev 3:3 Remember then how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
So is the opposite of Rev 3:3 true? That if you do watch, you will know the hour He comes?
It is silly to think He told us to watch for things we cannot observe and know.
Luke 21:28–31
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near."
…"So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is near at hand."
Jesus directly tells us to see and know when His coming is near. Watching brings understanding.
Mark 13:33–37
"Take heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants…
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house comes…
And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."
He says “to all” — this command to watch is for every generation of believers, not just the apostles.
Matthew 24:32–33
"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When its branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors."
Jesus expects us to recognize the season — not the exact day, but the nearness.
Romans 13:11–12
"And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand..."
Paul tells the church to know the time — awareness and spiritual wakefulness are required.
Amos 3:7
"Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets."
God’s pattern is to reveal what He is about to do — He never acts without giving signs or warnings.
