Disventure Camp 4: Carnival of Chaos – Advice for the Remaining 7 by PintheDog
The nineteenth episode of Disventure Camp 4: Carnival of Chaos was, by far, the most intense one. Alliances shifted in a way never seen before, the challenge was gripping and had viewers on the edge of their seats, and a big move (though a very cruel one) was made, bringing out possibly the most heartbreaking elimination of the season, as well as the most exciting one.
The Gal Pals 2.0 had been managed to mend fences temporarily to get rid of Spencer in the last episode, but in this episode, it finally fell apart for good due to trust issues in within the three pairs. Isabel and Jade were finally ready to target Anastasia and Marissa, and Anastasia and Marissa were just as ready to target Isabel and Jade. And Hannah and Amelie’s plan to ride the middle was put in jeopardy, when Hannah wanted to be courted by Anastasia and Marissa, while Amelie wanted to be courted by Isabel and Jade. Meanwhile, Logan and Zaid, stuck at the bottom of the team’s totem pole, suddenly saw the cracks to exploit, and both of them finally took advantage of it, though one of them in a deeper way than the other.
The Immunity Challenge saw the campers racing through the woods and right up the mountain near the carnival, with only a map provided by Emily. They’d also have a flashlight and either a gun or bullets, which would need to be combined into a weapon of protection against a gigantic robotic clown programmed to hunt down and kidnap the campers as they made their way up the mountain. At the top of said mountain were eight flags, one of each camper to retrieve so they could bring it back down to the starting point. The first camper to do so would win immunity. Two campers took incredibly bold, cutthroat, treacherous approaches that ultimately might’ve damaged their relationships with the other campers going forward.
The episode culminated in a vote that resulted in a totem play, and that totem play, in turn, resulted in a tiebreaker between two campers. Those two campers would have to take part in the carnival tradition of dunking tanks, with one camper trying to dunk Trevor, and the other trying to dunk Derek. The first one to do so would stay in the game, thus sending the other one packing. And in a heartbreaking showdown, one camper did send the other home — her closest ally.
With yet another camper out of the game, we have finally moved past the final eight and are now down to the final seven. But what should these campers do now that the latest camper has been voted out? How should alliances be reconfigured with the latest results? It’s advice for the remaining seven.
Purple Team
The Gal Pals 2.0 are definitively done, thanks to the Anastasia/Marissa and the Isabel/Jade dyads going to war, and one dyad came out on top of the other by way of the cruelest move of the season. What is that going to mean for all of the remaining campers left behind in the wake of that move?
Hannah: You remain at the top of the team for the simple reason that nobody is targeting you. But be wary, as now that you’ve won two Immunity Challenges in a row, people might look your way. Your social play with Amelie was not a smart one. Sit down, talk to her, make up, and get your dyad back on track. And try to make things right with Anastasia now that Marissa is gone. Make a new majority alliance with her, Amelie, and Zaid, and the four of you can take control of the game.
Amelie: As Hannah’s right-hand woman, you are still the second-highest of the team. Try to get Hannah to see how much she’s losing her way to preserve the alliance and friendship between the two of you. And now, with Isabel and Jade making their move on Anastasia and Marissa, try to form a new majority with the latter and either Logan, Zaid, or both to take control of the game. That will set yourself and Hannah up very well in heading for the endgame.
Anastasia: Stunningly, losing Marissa might’ve netted you some sympathy from the other campers. I was all set to put you on the bottom until I remembered how much glaring the other campers were doing at Isabel, and how sorry they all felt for you and Marissa. Use this to your advantage and draw in everybody who voted with you and Marissa — Hannah, Amelie, Logan, and Zaid — and try to form a new majority of five against Isabel and Jade. This will help you regain control of the game.
Zaid: The sudden change in momentum has risen you higher. With the members of the Gal Pals 2.0 who were on the wrong side of the totem furious with Isabel and possibly Jade, you and Logan can take advantage of this and join up with those who remain. Approach Anastasia, Hannah, and Amelie for a new alliance of five, or even go without Logan and make an alliance of four. Either way, it’ll help you take control of the game for the first time in a long time.
Logan: Well, well, well, Mr. Bell. Nice to see you finally trying to be strategic (but still not being particularly great at it). Similar to Zaid, you are in a good position to form a new alliance with the betrayed Anastasia, Hannah, and Amelie. However, I doubt that that will be the case, since you and Jade seemed to be on the cusp of forming your own agreement. Whatever it is, form a new majority group quickly to take control of the game.
Jade: You are in a bit of a bind now. Although it was right to split up Anastasia and Marissa, the plan of which you were part to bring this about was savagely cruel and vindictive, and although most of the glares went to Isabel, I am fairly sure that some of the slings and arrows are going to be coming your way, too. At this point, you need to distance yourself from Isabel and go through with the new plan that you have with Logan, whatever it is. Make a new deal with him and bring in any two of Zaid, Hannah, and Amelie (as I don’t think that Anastasia is going to be willing to work with you after that move) to take control of the game.
Isabel: You made probably the biggest move of the season. But it’s moved you down to the bottom. Why? Because just like Spencer’s move against Tristan, you made an incredibly cruel, sadistic, unforgivable move with your totem. It was good to protect yourself, but you should’ve just kept the full vote on Anastasia, not order Jade to split it with you between Anastasia and Marissa, forcing them into that fateful tiebreaker. Every single camper looked at you with anger and even hatred. It was a bold, savage move, but the way in which you went about it was wholly unnecessary. Now you will really have Anastasia on your ass. At this point, your best bet is to hope that Jade still wants to work with you. But unless you win immunity in episode twenty, I think your time is up, as I don’t see anybody else working with you after this.
Marissa: What went wrong? You and Anastasia were too obvious of a duo, and that just left the other Gal Pals practically chomping at the bit to split you up. You both technically did everything right strategically by securing Hannah and Amelie’s votes, as well as Logan and Zaid’s, and you had no way of knowing that Isabel would pull out the totem. But then, you fell victim to her cruel tie vote scheme, and while you could’ve just taken the tiebreaker over the despondent Anastasia, you decided to help her instead, which ultimately ended things for you. And unfortunately, with no more Comebacks, this elimination is for keeps. I am sorry to see you go, but feel like it was a waste that you survived two eliminations since your return, only to go out on the third.
But that's just MY advice for the campers. Do you have advice of your own to offer them? Give it up in the comments below!
