What is the best PC build for Minecraft, recording, streaming and editing?
I’m working on building a new PC setup so I can be more efficient at video making. (Big thanks to my Supporters for making this possible!)
Do the PC parts below work great or would you change anything? (PC part picker list in my pinned comment) It’s a combination of all the feedback in the previous 2 PC posts youtube.com/post/Ugkx47tWZxqPdNZfvNwmpMDXM1x1mD-7j…
Thanks!

CPU: Minecraft mostly uses just single core and single thread. But I also need extra threads for multi-tasking. Editing software also uses multiple cores to be efficient. Thinking of getting AMD 9 7900 it has high single core speeds plus extra. (I removed 3D since apparently I wont use it)

GPU: Minecraft do not use much GPU but it need it work well with editing software (Vegas Pro, Adobe premiere), recording (YouTube uses AV1) and multi streaming with OBS, I was thinking getting Asus TUF GAMING GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB Video Card (3 fans to be quieter, high memory)

Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX ATX AM5 Motherboard - ddr5 with correct sockets (whatever needed to make parts work together)

RAM: 48 gb ram DDR5 6000 (I increased it since I'll be multitasking)

NVMe M.2 SSD (not Samsung) (possibly for Operating System and applications)

Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler (want quiet, extra cool, needs to fit case)

PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 850 W 80+ Gold Certified (quiet and extra wattage for future upgrades)

Case: be quiet! Pure Base 501 Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case (Something that's quiet, with many fans, no lights, fits everything)

@RaysWorks

Any better parts or parts that cost less but do the same thing? Thanks for all the help! PC part picker list: pcpartpicker.com/list/mzVdpK :_rayHype:

The ram price omfg 😭

That 4070ti is way too expensive. You can get 5070tis at 750 to 800 right now. You can also avoid Asus 4070ti's because they are expensive.

@TheGoatTD

The ram price is diabolical

POV the cost at best buy be like : ok so this is usually like around 10000 but you’ll get a discount for about 15000

Buy your ram as soon as possible before it goes up more or goes out of stock Idk the other components, probably get good ones

Ram is crazy expensive rn. Have you considered buying only 32 gigs for now and seeing if that fits your needs? It's easy to just drop in an extra stick later on. Perhaps if 32 gb would be alright you could justify upgrading to a current gen GPU

Man. It's really just a bad time to build a PC with the way Memory and storage costs are increasing. You are gonna get a lot of different answers but budget . If you are using AV1, NVENC on NVIDIA will be the way to go for encoding. The encoders built onto the 50 series cards do this pretty well. That 4070 Ti is looking like a place you can save some cash considering comparable 5070Ti sku are ranging from $760 to $1100. I personally tend to stay away from ASUS because Armory crate is a mess. You can always just keep it uninstalled but I also don't really see a huge difference in performance in the various GPU models unless I am looking for something specific in OC. If you can save a little on that GPU, $1200 is kinda wild, you can lighten your load or put some of those funds towards other things you wanna upgrade a bit.

@AAdielP

Sadly The 40xx gen cards didn't go down in price too much A 5070ti would cost less And you could even get a 5070 that is cheaper than that 4070ti by a lot and should be stronger BUT, the 5070 has only 12gb, so unless you're planning to stick with 1080p, it's not gonna last as long You might want it to Gl, happy to see you upgrading! The old setup was kinda meh 🙃

Find out which mobo you need, find qvl list for ram and buy that first….

@calcifiedneurotic

currently there’s quite a good deal on the 6500D case on newegg (ending soon), if you can i would suggest grabbing that definitely recommend 5070ti over 4070ti if you’re buying new. there doesn’t seem to be any last gen discount (in fact the present gen cards are available at msrp) DDR5 prices are ridiculous right now. i’d personally grab a single stick of 16gb/24gb memory and get another stick later to match (the single channel drawbacks on ddr5 are less bad), but it’s up to you.

From my experience, a Minecraft PC needs cpu and ram. Graphics is important if you want heavy shaders. But the RAM price is so fucked up now I cannot suggest you buy one now Amazing choice for the cooler tho

One thing if you're worried about fan noise, you can replace the stock fans on most components (don't crack your GPU open or anything, but if you can see the screws you can replace it) with Noctua low noise fans. They focus on low noise without sacrificing efficiency. Might want to consider some extra storage options as well. NVMe is a must have for OS and apps, but I'd recommend at least one SATA based spinning disk drive. NVMe and SSDs can fail and can be unrecoverable, but you can throw an HDD into a lake for twenty years and still get data off it. Having a source of deep, recoverable storage will be worth it in the end. I also don't trust the cloud and want those kids to get off my lawn 🤷‍♂️ Edit: That may be more MoBo than you need if you're making room for future expansion. It definitely has the chops to support what you have now, but the extra stuff (like three NVMe slots and the extra PCIe slots) are more or less fluff. Your processor has 28 lanes of PCIe (the high speed interconnect among components in a computer). Four of those go to connecting the CPU to the mother board itself and 16 are going to the GPU. That's standard, but it only leaves eight lanes for everything else. NVMe takes four lanes to get maximum speed, so the PCIe 5 M.2 slot is going to be taking four of those. You'll probably have one of the PCIe slots running at Gen 5 speed straight to the CPU. The other two NVMe and the rest of the PCIe slots will work, but they'll all be sharing the same x4 to the CPU (the ones that go to the mother board, aka Chipset). They'll work, but it's a bottleneck worth considering depending on how intense your workloads are. TLDR: it'll work. You can min-max all you want and you'll find out that there's really no perfect solution

@ramennnoodle

For the cooler, I'd recommend the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE over the Peerless Assassin. It's basically just a newer updated version of the Peerless Assassin, and it should be cooler and quieter for about the same price. I'd also go with the SE of that over the EVO, mostly because even for my 7900x3D, I tune the fan curve a lot lower to stay silent and it doesn't affect the temps much, so the higher fan RPM on the EVO is just not worth the extra money.

The add-one did indeed not make me sleep well No joke when I saw this video the night of I couldn’t sleep at all (0 hours- it was painful but managed to push through just to ruin my schedule with 13 hours of sleep) (Obviously doubt this is actually the reason but let’s pretend this is 😅
