Thank you for donating school supplies to our community Josh! We’ve lost a lot of funding this year for our schools, something like $73 million. The schools used to help backfill supplies for low income and foster kids. A school supply drive like this will have a huge impact on our small state. I’m really grateful to you.

What a great idea. I taught in the public school system for 17 years. Once, during prep week, I was in line at Office Depot waiting to pay out-of-pocket for supplies. At the time, I was living off of the scraps afforded during the last month of “year round pay” from the previous school year. The woman behind me must have noticed my attempts to mentally calculate the cost, as well as the overflow of packages of pencils, markers, cardboard lettering and borders, and hand sanitizer that scream “classroom teacher.” She tapped me on the back and handed me a $50 bill, and wished me well for the new year. I cried on the spot. It was the kindest thing I’ve ever experienced. Thank you for keeping students and educators in mind!

The Flowers Tour is coming to Portland OR this week, August 19, 20 & 21, and I want to make these shows about more than just comedy. We’ve teamed up with Schoolhouse Supplies to help local students and teachers get what they need to start the school year strong.
Here’s how you can be part of it:
