I looked it up. The Bible doesn’t mention how far the journey.

In the ancient world, they measured distances by STADIA , which is like the length of an athletic field. say a football field. which is a STADIUM . The way they measured a STADIA is when the SUN began to rise on the Day of the Spring Equinox, the time was about two minutes until the full disk of the Sun was above the horizon , During that same time a King's Courier would walk briskly on a messenger mission , and the distance the King's Courier would walk while the Sun rose fully was called a STADIA. . However, since I am not exactly sure where Nazareth was, it seems to have been a GHETTO within a major city set aside for Levite Priests to live, since the Levite Priests were not allowed to own any land, so like the phrase of the "LATIN QUARTER" or the CASBAR , a place within a city , like the Burroughs of New York City , a place designated for Priests. or in the case of the CASBAR, a place for criminals to hide out from the law. I.e. SANCTUARY CITY . When Abraham traveled by donkeys from Beersheba to Jerusalem , it took THREE DAYS. The shortest distance was not always a straight line. I would guess the 145 Kilometers. or whatever accomplishes a theme of the Bible to be a three day journey. As it might be , then Joseph and Mary arrived at the gate to David's city in the same exact place where Abraham had arrived , they from the north and he from the south, to a STABLE where there was water and provisions for donkeys and animals , plus travelers would be welcome. So Jesus was born in the same place as where Abraham with Isaac left their donkeys to be in a stable, where there was water for them. So that would be a Divine Coincidence. Today this place is in the contested area of Palestine, West Bank by the Church of the Nativity . In the ancient times it was the Kingdom of Judea. So it makes sense that a governor of Syria cooperated with Caesar Augustus on the royal census taking , not of peasants but only of those whom Rome regarded as heirs of Judean Kings, like David. While Mary was a Levite woman , Joseph was an heir of King David with a royal lineage that required only those Jews who were Davidic to go to the places of the Ancient Kings to be registered for the advent of Caesar Augustus being titled "FATHER OF THE NATIONS . " which is the meaning of the word "AUGUSTUS" which resembles Mesopotamian titles of King of Kings , given by the Spirit of the Lord to ABRAHAM to make that Semite "FATHER OF MANY NATIONS " connecting back to the early BRONZE AGE of Persia and Babylon where Rulers over the entire Fertile Crescent were titled 'FATHER OF NATIONS 'and all the Satraps were called "SONS OF THE FATHER" to wit the Roman Empire succeeded the TITANS or the Persian Empire, and drafted this title onto Octavian Caesar , changing his name to AUGUSTUS CAESAR, and being the cause of the CENSUS taken of ROYAL HEIRDOM to cause Joseph to bring Mary with the expectant Son of the Father to Bethlehem to be born . and thus also the MAGI or Kings of the East , following his star came to Bethlehem to honor this New Born KING OF KINGS which would be called THE CHRIST or MESSIAH . It all connects together as part of the ancient history of the Middle East, contending the East and the West, from Persia to the Western Assyrian Empire that gave rise to the Olympiad Rulers of Greece and Rome contending with the TITAN rulers of Persia. That may well explain the tensions in the Middle East today between the Western World and PERSIA , which is modern day IRAN . Of course the Jews are in the middle of what is a historical EARTHQUAKE two world histories grinding against each other. where in Jesus came as the MESSIAH who if he was accepted , would be the PRINCE OF PEACE.

Rome would not of had every one go there. Rome would have sent census takers to each town.

🟢 The Bible records that Joseph and Mary traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem for a Roman census. Approximately how many kilometers did they cover on that dangerous journey?
