Technically both, but it depends on bagel quality, ingredients, if you take a little dough out to create some space for the ingredients, and of course, time. If youâre walking to work like a NYâer then of course the sandwich, but if youâre sitting down and you have time, then open face and split the ingredients between the two slices, makes a little less mess and you donât have to sacrifice dough. Bagel quality also has a factor because Iâve had some great bagels in NY that arenât as âchewyâ and are easy to take a bite from so they arenât messy. Sort of like finding that perfect po-boy bread in New Orleans. IYKYK.

Open...Forcing me to cut. Most bagel sandwiches are tough and chewy, squinting everything out the back end when I take a bite.
