I’m hosting an Anne of Green Gables pilgrimage next year!!!
YES! Common Ground Pilgrimages is making dreams come true! Their team has been organizing literary pilgrimages for the last five years and I was so excited when they reached out to run an Anne of Green Gables trip. I’ve pitched ideas for things we’ll see and visit but they’re the pros and they’ve organized a full itinerary of trips, hikes, restaurants, and more. My job will be to host daily workshops and discussions to dive deep into the book while we experience four beautiful days in PEI!
I had a lot of questions for their team about the trip and the ethos of their programs and was met with fantastic answers from a team of wonderful women that love books, love thinking deeply about them, and love building community. Some of my questions (which might be some of yours!) were about how much walking was involved (lots! It’s one of their main tenants that time in nature on long walks helps facilitate deep thinking), what the costs are (they have an amazing break down on their instagram), if the trip is at all religious (it’s not! they use the terms of pilgrimage to help contextualize the purpose of the trip), and what the day to day will look like (the itinerary outline is up on their website now and linked in my bio), and I felt so confident with every answer that this is going to be such a special trip. I also convinced them to include a mini Anne pocketbook edition for every pilgrim and honestly it didn’t take any convincing because we were all so excited about how perfect these editions are for long walks!!
You all know how much I adore Anne and Lucy Maud Montgomery. I’ve been scheming away thinking up what we’ll talk about in the classes I’ll lead and I can’t wait to hang out and discuss Anne with 18 of you (slots fill up fast so register soon if you’re interested, an Anne trip has been highly requested from their participants in the past so I think it’ll sell out quickly)!
If you have any questions you can ask here or on instagram, ask Common Ground Pilgrimages on instagram because they will have every answer, or go to the info page: www.readingandwalkingwith.com/anne-of-green-gables…
