I was minding my own business, scrolling on my phone like any self-respecting gossip queen would, catching up on the latest tea from our universe. Right away, I noticed two curious things. First, there are way too many prank-happy admins out there spreading fake news just to mess with people, like that rumor about a blue voxel chicken. Please... That doesnât even exist!
Second, Jenny had sent me yet another video of a new arcade dance. And⌠fine, Iâll admit it: it actually made me want to learn the moves. I may have watched it on repeat a little too long, because the next thing I knew⌠something had changed.
Was Maxine in the middle of another one of her sneeze attacks? I glanced to the side and... uh, hello? Three hearts were floating around me. Three. Now, I donât know much about arcade games (my specialty is gossip, not joysticks), but I was pretty sure this wasnât a love confession⌠and it definitely wasnât a good sign for me.
I peeked out the window and, surprisingly, everything still looked ânormalâ⌠well, normal by the recent Maxine-sneeze standards. But the moment I opened the door and stepped outsideâŚ
No streets, no houses, no town square: just an eerie maze.
Everything had turned into towering pixel-block walls textured like dirt and moss, and the sky (or should I say ceiling?) Was a bright neon green, casting an odd glow over the path ahead. The corridors felt tight, and each step echoed like something familiar with the terrain was watching me. Thatâs when I turned around, expecting my front door⌠and instead came face-to-face with him. Huge, menacing, gliding over the ground with terrifying speed: the Virus. Every time it moved, it created new platforms, reshaping the maze however it pleased, summoning pixel clouds of corrupted data that swirled overhead like a digital storm.
Before I could react, one of those fragments brushed past me, and instantly I felt it... my heart counter dropped from three to two. I didnât need a tutorial to understand that if they all vanished, something bad (really bad) would happen. And I wasnât planning to stick around to find out what. I had to find Maxine. If anyone could handle arcade glitches and rogue viruses, it was her. And this time, it wasnât just a matter of curiosity or hot gossip... it was actual danger.
XOXO, Gossip Girl (If I donât make it back, tell Jenny. She was cooking something up for me, and⌠maybe cancel it.)
If I donât make it back, spread the word to all your friends: new pets have just been added to the âRefer a Friendâ track! For every new player you invite, youâll unlock a brand-new reward. Who knows? This might be your chance to snag an exclusive pet!
