I personally believe it’s pride rearing its ugly mug into people’s minds preventing them from submitting to an institution established by Christ so the breaks occurred over time because each leader of a new group couldn’t accept some development of the Christian faith led by the Catholic Church. Someone always has to have an objection to anything beyond their understanding and refuse to study it or research it.

Not sure I agree with this. Can’t have Jesus without religion or the church? What about people in other countries who can’t openly congregate but have a secret Bible? Also, Jesus said, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to be seen, when you pray go to your room and close the door. But, I also agree church does make me feel better and coming together for Jesus is a good thing. Perhaps a balance is best.

I know far too many Christians that haven’t even opened a Bible much less read it. First understand The Scriptures so you are informed on whether your church is blind leading the blind or bible preaching. Even as a Catholic not all dioceses are equal Your Cathedral isn’t offering the blood of Christ in communion with the excuse of a disease years gone? Probably need another. You will not know scripture listening to one passage a week and hoping it is relevant, or disregarding it because you think it isn’t.

Most organized relgions fail to recognize that the temple of god is within all of us. We are the bridge between heaven and earth. We carry the spirit that lives eternally. Instead they limit and make exclusive the power of god. God is inclusive and without boundaries of definition. Church is people and the religion of jesus was jewish. Show me a church that celebrates these truths.

And Jesus says, well, blessed are you, you know, Simon bar-Jonah, because no one has revealed this to you except My Father in heaven.
So it's the recognition, it's not what we define, it's how God is defining and for us to come to that knowledge of who God is. But I think there's a danger when we start recreating God in our image rather than recognizing that we are created in the image and likeness of God.
Because if we want to recreate God, then we can justify just about anything that we want."
