To be fair, anyone with an IQ above room temp would’ve known it’s woke, simply by noticing this trend in all modern triple A releases and looking at this game’s protagonist… then again, I suppose noticing isn’t really most people’s strong suit these days.

Should have made this a video, especially since Syn isn't reviewing this game

Thoroughly enjoyed your article and appreciate your in-depth analysis. I tend to think that most anti-woke sloptubers don't have the education/knowledge and intellectual capacity to go really deep in their analysis. It's basically "Call it woke and call it a day".

The aptly named influencer class are fundamentally anti-pedagogical and utterly lacking in discernment and analytical abilities. Of course, not everyone who discusses media needs to be an intellectual, but the fact that we have an entire online class of people claiming to speak for the anti-woke side who are totally ignorant of even basic history and philosophy feels, as you said, deliberate.

Ghost of Tsushima was thoroughly "woke." I think the surprise of many at the sequel presenting a female player character for the samurai open world action RPG is proof that they missed the "wokeness" of the original game. I wasn't surprised at all.

Ghost of Yotei made the budget back off of people who loved the previous game and don't pay attention to politics.
