Knowing that a lot of young men died because of the greed of politicians really makes me sick.

I could have had 100 choices but they only allow 4. Dirty Pols using the military for a prop disgusts me.

Dudes who's whole identity is that they were in the military. Dudes think only doing that makes you a good person. It doesn't.

The flag, at the end of the day is a piece of cloth. The anthem is a song. I love our flag and anthem, what they stand for. However they aren't the hill I'll die on. The Constitution is what I swore to. That is the hill I will die on.

If someone exercising their 1st amendment offends you. You're probably on the wrong side of history.

The fact that stolen valor was the lowest voted option in this poll gives me hope in our veteran community, thing I hate the most is a super vet bro crashing out on a poor civilian who most likely has mental issues.

I'm of the opinion that the anthem and flag should be respected, with the flag being respected as per the flag code. No flag swimming shorts or thin blue/red/green/etc. line flags. If you're going to care about the flag, care about it right. However, I refuse to partake in the pledge of allegiance due to my objections to the religious connotations of it that were added purely for political reasons (because the Soviet Union had state atheism) and I see my first pledge to it as enough to show my allegiance to the banner when combined with my love for our national anthem. A true patriot can criticize what they love.

As a veteran who has fought for his country, I fought so citizens have the freedom to even disrespect the flag or go around pretending to be soldiers. It bothers me a little, one more than the other, but these civilians don’t owe us soldiers or the system that oppresses them anything. I’ve always hated the use of Military and such as a speaking point for votes. Its had ups and downs but alot more down in the form of the support they said they’ll give or rather the lack thereof. These are our direct leaders who actually DO owe us soldiers AND civilians the courtesy of following through as its the position of responsibility they put themselves in. Instead, we find our wages garnished by decreasing COLA even more. 6% decrease in two years in a hyperinflated economy. You’re telling me these jokers can crash the economy left and right making stupid bills, then turn around and make budget cuts across the entire board every fiscal year which in turn made my supply job even harder and send out a mass “keep up the good work” in email? If you’re not going to do anything impactful for the military, then just don’t talk about it. We’ll be happier for it.

None of the above. But if I was forced to pick one, it would be politicians using the military as a prop. Only my anger would be at the general public for being stupid enough to be swayed by it.
