Since there's a bunch of new people, now's as good a time as any to repost my reasonings behind the graphs which should help out with the lil guessing game we play:
I only look at the base kit. No talents other than ults, and I do consider hero specific quests that can be completed at or around lvl 10 like KTZ's quest. If I had to take into account all the changes that happen with scaling and choices over the course of the game the graphs would change every talent tier.
To keep things simple, and because the point the videos are to be a general overview/first step into playing a hero the graphs won't represent what a character is capable of 100% of the time.
Here's what I look at when deciding where to place each point:
Waveclear - Speed of clearing, area covered, and cooldown of spells. Some heroes have tons of AoE like Nazeebo but Ragnaros/Kael'thas can delete waves much more quickly than he can
Solo Lane - Self sufficiency, how much time the hero can spend fighting without backing, minion wave manipulation, and how strong a hero is in a 1v1.
Mobility - Can hero move fast? Do hero have movement ability?
Survivability - Hitpoints, self heals, armor
Teamfight - This is a little ephemeral, I try to think of what a hero brings to a 5v5. There's plenty of overlap between this stat point and the others, but team composition changes how a fight plays out. Global heroes get to fights quickly. Some tanks lock heroes down, others prefer mobile fights. Some healers can do respectable damage. Maybe you have a hard CC comp, maybe your team prefers longer drawn out fights, maybe you have to hard carry Sgt Hammer. The list goes on.
Utility/CC - The amount and duration of slows, debuffs, terrain manipulation (walls), stuns, roots, sleeps, taunts, immunes, cleanses, invuls, shields, and other supporting abilities and effects. Vision counts bigly and if you don't think so the minimap is in the bottom right of your screen.
Oh and healers swap solo lane for sustain/healing because you wont be playing them in the solo lane unless something's gone wrong or you're Brightwing
