In my opinion, there are three mathematical meta-topics that are teachable in one minute: examples, philosophies, and tricks. The tricks and examples are self-explanatory, but philosophies deserve a little more explanation. As an example of a mathematical philosophy, I have what I call the “one-step-deeper” principle. In short, when you are dealing with a mathematical idea or object, it’s often fruitful to consider one deeper level, with the object acting on itself. A perfect example is the beta distribution, which is a probability distribution on probabilities. Similar examples abound in virtually every major discipline. I think a series pointing out these themes would have serious value and could easily be consumed in < 60 seconds.

Yes... but the effectiveness would be dependent on examples/exercises that the consumer is able/willing to take beyond exposure and meaningfully apply it within their own particular context.

Can (and should) mathematics be taught effectively with 1- minute long videos, aka TikTok format ?
