I'm not surprised. He's brilliant; you ask good questions; and this interview clarified most of the issues surrounding history, attitudes and societal problems today. One of the best conversations I've EVER seen on YouTube. Dominic put into words almost all the things I have felt for a long time but found difficult to articulate. I've liked him since he started off (in the early 2000s, writing columns in BBC History magazine)... I like him even more now. And this channel too, of course. Keep it up.

It was as advertised, the best conversation about history I've ever heard. Engrossing and terrifying in equal measure.

I pay to be a member of both Triggernometry and the Rest is History because they’re both top 5 podcasts on the internet. Both very real and entertaining.

Congratulations on a brilliant show! Dominic Sandbrook really does understand his subject, and who can forget that US Election broadcast last year (The Rest is Politics) when he was the only one on the panel to predict Trump's win? I agree with other comments here about you getting more historians to talk. Again - a brilliant show, both of you.

Great! It was a very thought provoking discussion. Dominic was very balance. What I took away from it was that the worst people in history were those who started off as idealists who wanted to improve society. Something it's taken me most of my life to understand.

In this age of everybody re writing history to suit their own narrative, it’s high time people like him are educating them the truths

Good interview I watch the Rest is History quite a lot with Tom Holland and Dom . It's very entertaining and they are genuine historians . They do the research and are genuine writers themselves .

The part where they say the belief in a utopia is dangerous needs to be shared with everyone.
