About Nioh 3. It's a bit old news and we might see a Beta any time soon, but, let me share the Alpha feedback with you! I am surprised Team Ninja actually listened to most of us and is trying to make some changes.
Here's some of what i wrote exactly in the survey about 3 months ago. I still have a copy of all my text here. English isn't my strongest suit but whatever, let's share 😕
■Please let us know what you liked or didn’t like about the Samurai Style.
-I suggest you add another weapon slot for Samurai style at least. Ninja is NOT as diverse as another weapon. So please consider allowing players to equip two weapons for both styles.
â– Please let us know what you liked or didn't like about the two styles and changing between them (Style Shift).
-I like the idea but, having to be on the other style when i parry a red attack is always a problem. Why don't you make it possible to stay in Samurai style while parrying a red attack if you hold down the R2 button? And if you tap once then we parry and go to Ninja style.
â– Please tell us what the worst part of the Nioh 3 Alpha Demo was.
-The worst part was when i was playing co-op. I think you should not allow the host to pull other players to the shrine every time they stop at a shrine. The partners already have the option to teleport to the host which is enough. You can at least make a message appear that the host stopped at a shrine so we get the option to travel to the host or not. And there's no need to respawn enemies in co-op. Also, when a partner dies, it's almost impossible to spot the message of their death now. Make a sound alert or something.
â– Please let us know what you liked or didn't like about Guardian Spirit Skills.
-I don't like that the L1 button is now attached to the Guardian Spirit skill that we rarely use. I think you should consider changing the input because having the L1+â–¡ or L1+â–³ button for active skills like it used to be in Nioh 1 and Nioh 2 makes more sense. Make the guardian spirit skill up or down+â–³ instead.
â– Please let us know if any of the above gameplay mechanics left any memorable impressions on you.
-The arts gauge idea was nice. But when the enemy is out of ki, pressing â–³ near them would immediately initiate a grapple attack. I suggest you bring it back to normal as it was in Nioh 2 where only if you stop near an enemy and press â–³ you can grapple them. Another thing is to please allow the player to do a running attack in any direction they keep pressing and not lock the aim completely on the target. Now, if i try to run left or right and slash my character will force me to aim at the locked on target which isn't good.
â– The following question is for those who have played Nioh or Nioh 2. How did you feel about the newly added yokai?
-They were alright for the most part. However, some of them were a bit messy and don't have obvious animations. Can't tell whether they are attacking or trying to move. Especially the new bosses and that worm thing whatever it was called.
