Alex The Analyst

Over the years I've learned that Communication is one of my most powerful skills - especially as an Introvert (which I definitely am).

It's helped me land Interviews, Jobs, Contracts, Customers, and Opportunities that I would never had the chance to get.

If I only had Technical skills I would not have made it this far.

I wasn't always good at communicating though. I used to bomb interviews and fail presentations, but I started improving and getting better - because it's a skill that can be learned.

Here are some of my Biggest tips on how to be a better Communicator:
1. Active Listening is Crucial
Instead of thinking about what you’ll say next, really listen. Ask follow-up questions and show the other person you value what they’re saying.

2. Smile and Be Positive
Your energy sets the tone. Positivity makes people more open, more engaged, and more likely to remember the conversation in a good way. Most people like working and talking with happy/positive people.

3. Fake it Till You Make it
I don't care what anyone says - I definitely faked it at first. I am not a confident outgoing extrovert that is just good at everything. Confidence comes with practice. Even if you don’t feel it yet, acting confident helps you grow into it over time.
