I still don’t understand why they didn’t just sell it as a complete set. It literally would’ve made them millions of dollars.

honestly, it could've been super popular if not for the price. They could've made it a convention exclusive, and made it like a promo for their convention in a box that they do now-a-days. It would be so popular, and seen as a gesture of goodwill especially if they included the power 9 + a random card. Instead, they most likely lost money, and they lost a lot of trust from the community that frankly I don't think they've recovered from.

I got some of the duals. Most shops allow them without too much fuss and they don't have pee stains on them

Usually when I see people play with proxies, they either made those proxies themselves or occasionally paid an artist to do a really cool one. I have never met anyone who paid WotC $1000 for a small pile of proxies of mostly unplayable cards and I would have to resist making fun of them (but I wouldn’t if they were otherwise fine)

If they were actual reprints of old, hard-to-obtain cards, and not the most overpriced proxies in the world, I'm sure I would have run into more people playing M30 cards. I haven't even seen one in person, that's how unpopular they are.

My local game store cracked theirs open and gave away all the cards as rewards for completing little challenges in prereleases. I got a couple.

30th anniversary Chaos orb in old school format. Also collectors edition is probably more popular.

I've used the 30th anniversary edition art on mtgprint, because I generally prefer the current frame, but I've never seen anyone who actually owns the real cards.

These are not meant to be played, so that would be pretty strange. I don't know why people keep calling them proxies, since proxies are meant to be played and these were clearly not.

LGS has a 30th anniversary Savannah. I make fun of him for it all the time

Never owned personally, but the LGS i used to work at in the uk let me crack a box of M30 to advertise and sell the singles. They had 2 boxes sent for free from wizards. After 6 months of no sale, they decided to give permission to crack it. Even in terms of proxies, they got nothing. The total value they got from the pulls was £70 as opposed to the £1000 the box cost. The best pull they had was an urza's glasses. Its a good job i declined filming it for the youtube channel and FB page 😂

I've only seen them being played with. I would never waste my money bugging expensive proxies when cheap proxies exist.

I didnt think any of the 30th anniversery carfs were legal. Like just a box of 1000 dollar proxies

I hope the day never comes that I lay eyes upon a 30th Anniversary card in the wild
