I knew Jin was gonna be first but I'm still proud to see Malos reach 30% of the votes. Good job Malos nation 🫡

I'm half tempted to vote for Malos just because of his memorable lines. "Indeed!"

Malos is a bit more charismatic and chaotic, but Jin is just the living embodiment of cool. He’s just the right amount of anxty, edgy, and genuinely tragic to be great

There are very few moments in the series that hit like seeing Jin stand in place smiling at the end of chapter 9 before he fades away.

Amalthus is the catalyst to make Malos and Jin so good, but overall Jin has the best story, moments and design for me

Malos is just such an amazing character, he is funny and memeable, satisfying villain that you want to defeat and gets so much more interesting and complex every time you play or watch through the game.

Jin is one of my favorite villains in all of media. He's intimidating with the strength to back it up, yet we feel for his plight and honestly can see things from his angle. He shows the world is not so black and white, and his ultimate redemption is very powerful.

Malos is my favorite in part because he's genuinely one of the most tragic villains I've come across in a video game. Like he's Logos he's not inherently good or evil but he was awoken by Amalthus and given nothing in the world but the purpose to destroy, went through an existential crisis trying to come to terms with the fact that his thoughts and goals weren't his own, and then ultimately decided that he's simply a monster and too fucked up to be helped and had to be destroyed for the world to become a better place.

I personally love all 3 villians because of how all their motives/backstory tie more into their personanalitys and emotional states instead of a single event or definitive goal driving them. There are events that are the catalyst for their motives (Jin losing Lora, Amalthus seeing the destruction of war/human nature), and they all have one primary goal throughout the story, but I like how for the most part they do what they want even if they know its wrong or self-harming. Amalthus slowly killing the titans because of his hatered toward the world and views on the relationship between humans and blades. on the basis of fufiling the archetects will, despite the fact that he needs the titans to survive and the fact that he doesn't agree with the aegies's, agents of the archetect. Jin's mission to destroy all humans and the archetect, siding with an old enemy, due to his hatread toward humans, despite knowing that some humans are good and one in particular wouldn't agree. their actions may seem unrealistic, and in most storys i'd probebly agree, but xenoblade 2 is a study of the relationship between logic and emotion(and who you are despite what the world wants you to be), and I think all 3 antagonists do an amazing job of expressing this. Deminstraiting these things within eachother and the heros, but out of the 3 I think Malos does this the best job. He does have an advantage being the main antagonist, but most his relationships with the other characters are pretty breif all things considered. despite phiysically being with Rex and Jin for large portions of the game, their relationships are pretty brief, but he gets so much done in those short bits of time. His personal conflict with what is truly his will is also just such an intersting way to tackle these themes, and I think it works so well and adds depth to his character while still leaving room for his playful, evil personality. I could keep yapping but he is my favortie villian in the series no doubt, however I absolutly love the other 2 as well.

I was Jin for the longest time and it still is Jin for the most part but Malos is a really close second and if I could pick one of the two to make some kind of return in XC4 I'd pick Malos. Preferably as a playable party member. Not to undersell Amalthus though. All three are great villains in their own right. Jin is the tragic fallen hero villain, Malos is the absolute maniac who just wants to see the world burn and Amalthus is the politician (who also just wants to see the world burn).

Malos is easily my favourite, but I do think amalthus should have cracked the top 5.

Jin, though Torna does a lot of heavy lifting for his character. Before Torna, I'd have him below both Malos and Amalthus - but Torna just sold his relationship with Lora so well, and made it entirely believable that he'd burn the whole world to the ground if he lost her. BTW, something that just occurred to me today: remember Pyra's "I love this world because you're in it" line to Rex? For Jin, his situation is the exact opposite: he hates this world, because Lora ISN'T in it.

I love Malos, while Jin was better written depending on who you ask, Malos is kinda like Bowser, he just has a charisma to his over the top personality that makes it difficult to really hate him but with a soft spot for their people that makes him feel like an actual three dimensional character despite being meant to be an evil character that thrives to destroy (or conquer, in Bowser's case).

I'm seeing some different opinions in the comments of my top 5 villains, who is YOUR personal favorite Xenoblade 2 villain? (I'm pretty sure who's gonna be number 1, but I'm curious how close it will be)
