Rev

I want to apologize for the two videos I made about the One Piece art. Looking back, those videos were unnecessary and misinformed. When I first saw the art, I jumped to the conclusion that the artists were trying to "fix" the original work. I will admit I was being stubborn about the immediate feedback, but after reflecting on it even more I have realized that wasn’t the case.

I’ve always believed in supporting artists and defending them from unwarranted harassment, and what I did goes against that. Normally I tell people if they don't like something, to simply ignore it. I didn't in this case, and that was hypocritical. In addition, I should have taken more time to understand the situation before making any commentary on it. The first art was not a "malicious redraw" and the second piece was not a response to the previous one.

I’ve taken down the videos from the channel. I’m owning up to my mistakes and taking the L on this one, and I really appreciate those of you who called me out on this and helped me stay consistent to what I encourage others to do.

Again, I apologize to the artists and anyone else upset by these videos.

@cohenvale6342

Now thats actually a sincere apology. Feels foreign in today's time

Take notes, nux, THAT is an apology!

@DogPersona

Good on you for owning up to your mistakes, Rev. everyone makes them, but what matters is owning up to them, as it shows that you are reflecting and trying to improve

@void-derivative

Owning up to your mistake right after realising you did one is the type of mentality everyone should have

Huh, had no idea it wasn’t a “fix your art” situation, but glad you finally owned up to your mistake. This opened my eyes too.

@neurosis51

Very sincere, but you gotta make sure you highlight the apology in a video, otherwise more people will have been left with the initial impression you made as opposed to the far more obscure community section comments. It will be seen as the same way as Nux doing the non apology on the less popular obscure platform/section.

Lets be honest though, that first art piece was atrocious and was blatantly made to reference Oda's work

@1000shadowmario

It would've been better if you made an apology video, or better yet, made this note on your main channel! I wouldn't even have found this if it weren't for people talking about it on Twitter. And I feel like it's the same for a lot of others.

@SnaksiXD

Only the real ones own up to their mistakes instead of doubling down, and even then they may not directly apologize. You did. You're already better than the average terminally online Twitter user.

I appreciate the update and the admission but as someone who is unfamiliar with the situation off of YouTube I only know what your previous videos have said , so I would prefer a video to clarify what it was that was wrong about your reporting and what the actual truth of the situation is . I'm honestly left not knowing the full story here

@NecrossXIII

Why didn’t you post this on your main channel?

Nux Taku could never! In all seriousness though I definitely think a video apology would go a long way. Was only able to watch the first video on the subject and it seemed pretty fair, though obviously I don’t have all the context

This apology should’ve ABSOLUTELY been on your main channel rather than your 2nd because most of your viewers and subscribers will see it more. That’s my gripe, do better next time if you’re genuinely sorry.

@Mr.Cynical

Glad you owned up to it. I feel you should also talk about it on your Twitch and maybe even put it as a clip here, just to set the record straight. You don't have to, but I feel it would go a long way to show you're sincere about it.

It's all good Rev. Sometimes our egos get the better of us, but owning up to those mistakes is what helps us learn from them and be better.

Dammmm Rev great to see you own up to this 👍

Personally I feel like you should make a video with an apology. The amount of people who will see this post doesnt will not compare to the amount of people who watched the videos. Thats the reason I was mad at Nux, dude threw an accusation publicly and then apologized privately and afterward referenced the event indirectly in a second channel. It feels half assed, Rev. The retribution should be in the same level of the crime.

It's good to see your sincereness, but a video on the main channel would go a long way.
