600+ for the regular Xbox Ally, $1000+ for the one with 3 X in the name. More X = more $.

Possibly for the lower spec one. But the ‘X’ - which is ultimately the only one worth looking at is going to be nearer $999 according to the same “leaker” which is diabolical

I could see it for the cheap one given how weak the chip is. If it cost any more it would be a very tough sell when refurb and used Z1E handhelds are getting cheaper and cheaper.

I’m 99.9% sure it’ll be higher. Microsoft wouldn’t subsidize it because there’s slim chance they’d make it back in game sales, and Asus wouldn’t subsidize it because they have nothing to gain from doing so

I’d like to see handheld PCs get more mainstream attention. 399-499 would be amazing.

I think $599 for the Ally. I hope $799 for the X, but wouldn't be surprised of it was $899-$999.

It'll be a miracle if it's priced at $800. I'd love for it to be $500 but they'd be selling at a considerable loss and tanking any chance of people buying their other handhelds

No way in hell. The fact you can freely use other store like Steam means Microsoft wont be able to count on game sales from their store to subsidize the console. On top if that theyve shown time and time again that despite being in last play they will never take the opportunity to price competitively. In fact, they just raised the price of their consoles and games while Sony has still not matched. They see the pricing of PC handhelds and they absolutely will not price lower. Besides, isnt this more a case that theyre licensing out the Xbox brand to Asus. In all likelihood Asus is in control of all this and they dont stand to benefit from selling their handheld at a loss.

If anything, with the recent Xbox price increase, it's almost guaranteed that the price will be higher. Nintendo has unfortunately set the standard for gaming price increases, and all these companies know people will still buy despite the outrage. Because a lot of gamers don't have discipline these days.

If it's an open platform with access to multiple stores, it wouldn't make financial sense for them to subsidize it. It's not impossible, but it's hard to make it make sense.

Base will be the same cost as the switch 2, black model will be same as the ally x

The Xbox Ally X will retail for 899€ and the lower powered Xbox Ally wil cost 599€. The USD pricing is 499$ for the base unit and 799$ for the powerful one.

I think it depends on how much Microsoft wants people in their ecosystem

The ROG Ally 1 was released with an MSRP of $599 2 years ago. Why will the Xbox ROG Ally be released with a lower MSRP?

It'd be a really smart move on their end to price it at 499$, that way they can swipe at the Nintendo Switch 2's "mainstream portable console" userbase (because the switch 2 is still 450$), while making a more economically friendly console than their own Series X/S (with the free online and free cloud saves), and recouping their costs with software sales and Game Pass

Do you think it's plausible that the Xbox Ally could be priced at $499?
There's a new leak that Xbox Ally will be priced at $499. The leaker is extas1s who has had their hits and misses and regardless of the leak itself, I want to know what you think. Leave your thoughts in the comments too.
