Stay Safe Martial Arts

I will be releasing a video within the next few days regarding school sh**tings. The focus will be on ways I personally feel we can improve on to ensure the safety of our kids and faculty.

I want to know in your opinion, what do you think needs to be done to improve safety measures, training, etc. I want genuine answers; no political nonsense, no banning g*ns (because we know that is not happening anytime soon). Please be respectful but I would love to hear some of your thoughts.

As a school teacher I am genuinly curious what you think, but have little to offer in terms of a solution. Making positive connections with students goes a very long way.

I think teachers should be allowed to close carry on school grounds, if they choose to, once they've completed an active shooter course (possibly provided by their local sherriffs department). They should have to disclose, when they're carrying, to the school resource officer and/or principal/dean. The schools should also replace "gun free zone" signs with signage that warns that staff and faculty may be armed. I believe this would end most school shootings.

Will you discuss what types of structures or objects will actually stop a bullet? My limited experience with active shooter drills is they are similar to earthquake drills. I completely understand wanting kids to have consistent patterns for crisis response, but is there a way to have similar patterns that are also more effective at protecting from shots

Many times, these people could be identified prior to committing crimes like this. We need everyone to be more proactive. Proactive identification, proactive help, better solutions for people who are struggling and appear to be on track to hurt themselves or others. Instead, we find out after the fact that some of these folks were already on the radar and their activities (socials, etc.) clearly indicated problems would arise. Unfortunately, it seems many in government would rather react and lean further into our Second Amendment rights.

Honestly, I feel like the teachers or security that is in the building and outside that are trained and carrying firearms would help. Just having some level of resistance and intimidation would help. Also, banning guns won't do a thing. Because it will stop law-abiding citizens from getting guns, but criminals have so many and there are so many illegal weapons dealers out there that it would be very easy for a criminal or someone with criminal intent to get a gun. Just more trained security personnel that are able to neutralize the threat quicker would help the most. Because police aren't going to get there quick enough. It would at least with trained security be able to stop the shooter from creating more casualties. That's just my thoughts. If you disagree with me, I would love to discuss it below, not to argue, but to get a better view of other people thoughts. I try to be open minded

Have one man outside of the Mass, walking around the perimeter. This was not a Sunday or a Holy Day of Obligation.
