First of all: I am, genuinely, so sorry for your loss. Kimahri was a beloved (secret) king by the entirety crumpets, without any exceptions. This news probably broke all of our hearts, but when reminded that Kimahri's situation was as you mentioned, maybe this was the least painful path for him, sadly. My mind went numb after reading the first paragraph. I know that something that will eventually happen shouldn't be this agonising, but I believe it is our greatest duty to remember Kimahri at his best, and also support you (all) through the loss of a loved one. Speaking of which, both your family and you did an excellent job in this regard. Therefore, I congratulate you for the efforts you put in to make his last days comfortable and memorable. I believe that Kimahri will , also, remember you at your best. I wish you all the best, and especially you. I hope that without forcing yourself and putting too much weight on yourself, you can take a break as you wish, make yourself feel more neutral about this (as if one is capable of doing that, sorry if I sound neglecting), and grieve him as much as you need to. Please give yourself the time you need to process, even if you can't. I'm sure He would be grateful to you for all the time he spent with you. My condolences 🫂

To all crumpets,
It breaks my heart writing this and that I must bring this news to all of you. My cat, Kimahri—the crumpet mascot—has passed. Words cannot convey how devastated we are to suffer another loss this year.
Kimahri was diagnosed with advanced kidney disease in the middle of May. Unfortunately, at his stage and quickly deteriorating health, he was untreatable (only medication and injections were viable in alleviating his symptoms), and in his last week, he was hiding from us. But my family and I kept him company and tried to make his remaining days as comfortable as possible. In the beginning, we knew we wouldn’t have a long time with Kimahri after the diagnosis, but we never anticipated how little time he actually had left.
It’s hard for me to process that he’s gone, but at least he isn’t suffering anymore and we could properly say goodbye. Kimahri is immortalised because of you—the community—who have made fanart, emotes, stickers, memes, and various other things. Thank you to those who pampered him through my Throne and PO box, and thank you all for loving him as much as I do.
I will need some time to grieve, and so I’ll be taking a small break from work.
