🎥 Finishing up a new video essay about AI - particularly how it can rewire our brains + careers...
but before I finalise the video I'd love to have your input and discuss it at the end of the video...
What do you think about AI?
Are you optimistic about it?
Are you against it?

Forgot to add how it’s being touted as a complete replacement for educators in the classroom and the lessons will all be generated content, and as someone who works in Sped, that is terrifying. You have to be intentional every step of the way when teaching.

I enjoy having AI as a tool but I’m not optimistic for the future. I think human’s are going to go too far with the expansion of AI while I personally think it should just be there to help us write emails lol

Potentially vey optimistic about AI although there are some drawbacks to it liek creativity no one wants to be creative anymore whether it be and essay or a speech asking chatgpt to moderate one for tou although,it helps woth generating ideas it still seems theres a loss in art, creativity and expression

AI is a tool. If used wisely, it can push us to be more creative and experimental with our work. AI should not be a replacement for creativity and problem-solving. There will be two types of people. Those who use AI as an excuse to be lazy and those who use AI to increase productivity create amazing work. It's up to us individually how we use AI. There will be people who will refuse to use AI because of pride and the desire to outsmart it. There will also be those who will feel the urge to increase their creativity without AI as a form of silent protest.

The harmful effect it has on the environment, theft of art and other protected creative work, deep fakes, bias based on training that is racist/sexist/ect, companies firing entire departments to use ai instead of gradual integration, using it to automate tasks that run government services and it does so with many mistakes, how misleading images are able to spread true harm, bots that populate the internet to influence people into clicking links or false information…. these are just a few of the observable effects it is having. We will grow with ai, but regulations on it have not kept up to offset its spiderweb of impact. I do see it as a good tool to help solve problems that cannot be solved otherwise. But for the most part, it is a monster that is endlessly fed and used to for harm.

Im very optimistic about AI until I felt like im being too dependent on it for university work. Also with all the deepfake technology where it can easily copy a person and create false content is giving me the chill

I love using AI in every day life. But I also think it lacks the human soul so it can't provide good creative help. I tried writing a story with it, but it felt very generic and lacked any essence. It is good for work uses though
