Since the start of Haunted Cartridge, I’ve been using AI-generated visuals to match each story. But lately, I’ve been thinking of moving away from that.
The thing is… AI made it really easy to create a ton of eerie images that fit the mood. If I stop using it, I need a new approach.
Then I realized — maybe I’ve been putting too much focus on visuals. Most people listen to creepypastas; they don’t watch them. Maybe one haunting in-game screenshot, with some subtle motion or distortion, would actually sell the vibe better.
After all, nothing is scarier than what your own imagination fills in.
What do you think? Would you prefer the old multi-image style, or a simpler, more atmospheric one-image format?
